Suspected Paris serial killer arrested
Daily Telegraph ^ | 15 April 2012 | By Henry Samuel

Four people were shot dead in the space of five months in the Essonne area south of Paris, all with the same type of semi-automatic weapon by a gunman who fled on a motorbike, recalling the attacks of a scooter-driving Islamist extremist killed by police in southern France last month after murdering seven people.

Unlike the Mohamed Merah Toulouse killings, there is no suggestion of any political or religious motives in the shootings.

The latest victim, Nadjia Boudjemia-Lahcenea, 47, of Algerian descent, was shot dead in the entrance hall to her block of flats in the Grande-Borne district of Grigny, ten days ago, leading to a manhunt involving 100 investigators.

Police are now holding a 33-year old man known only as Yoni P. who they have described as a "very serious" suspect ....

A break in this ongoing case. For these crimes, I have not seen an analysis of the racial/ethnic profiles of the victims, and a lot of information is missing. More to come!

Cincinna, you are probably busy, and there is a lot of important stuff with the election campaign.

But if you could give us one of your informative posts about this case, it would be great.

Any more than there is no astro-mechanical concept behind the sun rising in the east tomorrow morning. Part of me weeps for the poor, deluded fools until I realize how much of Western civilization is in the same ragtag march toward the destruction of their own history and cultures. At best, it may be a revenge killing, but for the personal motive why is a question waiting to be answered.

"As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their hearts desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

Whoa! I got a chill for a minute there when they said he used a “SEMI-AUTOMATIC” weapon! Next thing you know those wackos will be using “BARREL SHROUDS!”

Indeed, as we are not informed of the motives, how can anyone rule out racial/religious factors?

Latest bits of information are that the suspect is from Antilles, is 33 years old, and may have a history of mental health problems.

While it would be foolish to dismiss racial and religious
motiviations for these actions out of hand it would be just
as foolish to forget that many many killings are the result
of people who in a kinder saner age would have been “institutionalized” for life due to incurable mental
illness. Now we just cut em loose to roam the streets with
the vain hope that they will take their medications.

H/T Black Veil Thank you for posting this.
Very little is being disclosed at this time about the killer.
The polls are not looking good for Sarko.
Hollande is now running ahead in the first round by half a point, and widening his lead in the second round.
I dont get it! I watched both mass rallies Sunday and saw in Sarkozy a strong powerful leader fully of energy and conviction, and in Hollande, the Pillsbury dough boy, all soft, mushy, and out if breath. As fellow traveler Socialist Martine Aubry (daughter of EU founder Jacques Delors) put it “Hollande a des couilles molles”
In time of crisis, which is definitely coming to France, a strong leader willing to rein in spending, halt illegal immigration, and take a strong stand on crime is needed.
Hollande is none of the above. Pauvre France!

Wonderful place and people. Can’t understand their not preferring Sarkozy. Yes. I understand your wishing you were here. Il fait tres froid ici—very cold here though.

Because the victims would be, like, less-dead, if he'd used a Hawken muzzle-loader.

What kind of a name is “Yoni?” Have they released his full name?

Excellent point. If there is one area that government is truly needed it is in taking care of the indigent mentally ill. Cook County shut down its mental health faculties and left these people on the streets. They make up Chicago’s homeless population.

Could his history included his religious beliefs? In a leftist, socialist, semi-communist political country such as French, enlightened thoughts are that Christianity is dead and to be mocked, and as much for other philosophies, with the exception of the religion of peace which will kill you if you speak against it.....

"What kind of a name is “Yoni?”

It's Eastern Mediterranean. Although it's etymology derives from, "Of Ionia," it's not exclusively Turk, and there are Greeks, Cypriots, Turks and Israelis all named "Yoni".

33 year old from West Indes. They say he is a marginalized loner type with petty crime and one assault history. For now they only use Yoni P. not to be mistaken with the designer of same name. Unsure if this is political correctness or real name of the murderer.

Please keep us posted on any on the ground election news!
In a pathetic, rather disgusting plea for votes, Hollande paraded out an aging and obviously half gaga Jacques Chirac wo said he like Hollande and will vote for him because Alain Juppé is not running.
I hope it backfires in Hollande’s Pillsbury dough boy face, and, as Martine Aubry said, his “couilles molles” (FR is a family site, so look it up ;•}

Yes. I understood couilles molles . Oui! Oui! Oui! Perfect description. I thought Chirac was in jail (which he should be) or dead! Oh no! How could they think to put in Hollande over Sarkozy!!? Very sad. As you said earlier, they are going to need a strong leader! I envy that you were able to watch both, but happy for you that you did and reported to us. We were busy in Versailles. We would have happily supported Sarkozy with cheers. Heading back to the states today. Et toi?

And Versailles us one of my favorite places to visit, especially off-season.
Please report back on what you saw, heard, and of course, what you ate!
