Leftists think they are smarter than everybody else, that they have a better idea, and that if only you would do what they want, the world would be a better place. A dictator who has managed to stay in power for 50+ years, no matter what cost to humanity, is probably their life's aspiration.
I think Rush made a similar point the other day.

It’s also amazing that leftist propagandists always manage to characterize Progressive politicians as “brilliant”, while characterizing those who aren’t Progressive as
“bible-thumping, anti-science, gun-loving, knuckle-dragging morons”; especially amazing when many in the electorate fall for it.
