Developers plan to break ground on a new affordable housing project for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender senior citizens.
Project spokesperson Mark Segal says the housing project will be built on 13th Street between Locust and Spruce.
We want this project to be something that Philadelphians can take pride in. Thats very important to us. We want the city to take pride in it, we want Washington Square West to take pride in it and we want the LGBT community to take pride in it.
Segal says this project fulfills a need that has gone unfulfilled for a long time now.
And in our own community for the most part, LGBT seniors are literally invisible. This project has put them on the map and made them think about the issues that face gay seniors.

Because they died of AIDS,perhaps?
Are tax payer $$’s involved? If not, I dgas...
So, they’re going to build one for heterosexual couples also?
Because they virtually don’t exist! This housing development will go belly up in less than 5 years, I’d guess.
Most elderly who are or once were gay likely don’t want to embarrass their families by coming out at such a late age. Open homosexuality is really a more modern realization. Not to say it didn’t happen in the past, but society was much less tolerant of it.
How about one for those who pick their nose and eat what they find there?
Or one for those who golf three times a week?
Or one for those who play cribbage but not gin?
Or one for those who wipe their butts with their left hand.
Which of course would be kept separate from the one for those who wipe their butts with their right hand.
Or one for those who wear bifocals. (trifocal wearers would need their own building).
What does anyone's chosen behavior have to do with where they live?
These are just old people. We've got old people housing already. We don't need a faggots' retirement home. (unless of course the normal old people just refuse to have the perverts in their buildings)
It is easier for a Democrat government to wall it off from the rest of the population.
There’s nothing sadder than an old queen.
Drink everytime the word “pride” is used.
“This project has put them on the map and made them think about the issues that face gay seniors.
How do those differ from non-gay seniors?
“Honey, take your teeth out...it’s better that way.”
I am all for segregating homosexuals into “special” geographic areas. We will know were they all are when the time comes...
I wonder when they will break ground for the necrophiliacs’ housing complex. Why support one form of perversion and not the others?
Now that's funny, I don't care who you are, that's funny right there!
More likely to be lesbians.
Why do they always want the taxpayers to pay for this crap?
thank you thank you thank you...
Any developments, EITHER privately or publicly funded overtly designated as just for NORMAL couples?
..But that would be "bigoted"!
We want this project to be something that Philadelphians can take pride in. Thats very important to us. We want the city to take pride in it, we want Washington Square West to take pride in it and we want the WHITE community to take pride in it.
...wait just one minute. If I had housing which I refused to sell to a gay couple I’d be sued, ...yet somehow I bet this wouldn’t apply to hetero couples in this situation.
Gotta love the double-standards of the left.
So, this will be the “bath house” were customers never have to go home.
Okay, who’s got the picture of Obama putting up curtains?
