LANCASTER, Pa. - Two of the Republican candidates for president are in Pennsylvania a week ahead of the state's primary election.

Mitt Romney, the GOP's all-but-certain presidential nominee, and Newt Gingrich, are scheduled to speak at the Republican Committee of Lancaster County’s spring event in Lancaster on Tuesday evening.

Rick Santorum, who suspended his campaign last week, has canceled his appearance. Santorum, a former Pennsylvania U.S. senator, hasn't hinted whether he'll eventually endorse Romney, but said he'll say soon how he'll continue to press for conservatism in politics.

The "all-but-not-yet" Massachusetts moderate candidate and the "last conservative standing" candidate.

So Romney’s going to concede and endorse Newt??

If only...

I’m sure we can catch Mitt’s appearance live on Fox News, followed by an exhaustive wrap-up with multiple swoons from the All-Star Panel.

At 11 PM Carl Cameron will end his 10 minute recap of Mitt’s speech with, “Newt Gingrich also spoke.”

Fox highlighted Mitt’s speech to the NRA (made it sound like he’d been accepted into the fold as the presumptive nominee and ran a clip where he managed an applause line). Fox never mentioned any other speakers (and there were many other speakers) including Newt another candidate still in the GOP primary, who got several standing ovations.

Not one peep.

However we all know that Newt was bitten by a penguin and a student reporter didn’t get to interview Newt.

Like you, I hope and pray republicans will clean out their ears NOW and hear the difference between Romney & Gingrich. Romney is another wishy-washy candidate that wants the job SO bad he has no direction. Gingrich on the other hand has experience in doing what he is campaigning to do with SUCCESS!

When I see polls saying Romney would beat Obama I’m thinking that they are just hoping with all their might that Newt does not win the nomination as they know Obama will be sunk during debates with Newt. Romney can’t debate well and he just reminds me of McCain. McCain debating Obama was a waste of my time 2 out of 3 times. As one bumper sticker says, I’ll puke before and after voting for Mitt if it comes down to that...and, I hate that word!

Hopefully Newt’s team can get Romney’s wishy washy message on the air waves. Rush tried today telling us about what Romney said at an event yesterday (I believe) in Florida. Mush!

Oh, the RNC called me yesterday. I told them NO money unless Newt is our candidate.

Romney also wants to reduce or eliminate various deductions as part of tax reform, although he has yet to provide details.

That's the problem with Romney. He's won't commit to anything. Makes me suspicious.

Of course the media is going to project this as a “shared” event.....rather than opposing candidates. As if Newt’s Romneys’s guest.

Sickening stuff we’re getting shoved down our throats!

Yes, very sickening. I still haven’t figured out how I am going to explain this mess to my grandchildren.

You just tell them you fought the good fight...and why you fought it......that they will understand.

As for the mess the GOP and Romney/Santorum made of this race....well that will go into various books with various authors giving their take on the matter. None of which will likely be the truth.

Then someday when these thugs are old geezers...they'll play a “Deep Throat” confession to set the record straight....but by then nobody will care....we'll have become a nation unrecognizable to the founders.

Sucks doesn't it!

They’ve struck a deal:

Mitt promises to stop telling lies about Newt, and Newt promises to stop telling the truth about Mitt.
