First Lady Michelle Obama recalled her father's battle with multiple sclerosis (MS) as she explained "what's at stake" in this election between President Obama and Mitt Romney -- whose wife has MS.
Mrs. Obama recalled her father's MS during a campaign fundraiser, saying he "had MS, was a blue-collar city worker all his life . . . [and her parents] saved for us, they sacrificed everything for us, why? Because they wanted something more for me and my brother." The First Lady summarized the anecdote by saying "that's what's at stake" -- by which she referred to the idea that "if you work hard, you can build a decent life for yourself and an even better life for your kids . . . So believe me, your President knows what it means whan a family struggles," she added after talking about his life raised by a single mom.
The implication seemed to be that the president better understands the trials of people with MS, and of working class people like Mrs. Obama's father. But the First Lady might have forgotten that Ann Romney, Mitt Romney's wife, also has MS. (Michelle Obama did not mention Romney, but he is the alternative to President Obama in this general election.)
Ann Romney addressed the issue of her struggles in an interview with The Washington Examiner's Byron York. "The hardest time in my life was when I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis," she told York, who wrote:
"Her husband was infinitely understanding, she said, telling her she would be alright and that he wouldn't mind even if she were disabled. "He said, 'Look, I'll be fine if you're in a wheelchair,'" she said. "And he said, 'And I really don't care that you can't cook dinner anymore -- I really could eat toast

After her cooking, we believe it.
Did someone attack Moochelle’s Dad for being a Stay at Home Father?
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Is Moochelle on another taxpayer-paid vacation again?
Thanks Nachum.
Who keeps pulling Chatty Moochy’s string?
The ol’ family as props thing
FFFUUUUMMMOOOO!!!!”
Bagpipes were playing Amazing Grace in the background
lolol!!!
More flatus from the FLOTUS
The Mooch wins the ironic statment of the day award with her weepy story about the value of work and building a better life whilst her hubby looks for new ways to screw the living crap out of anyone who wants to work hard and build a better life.
I’d think it would be COOL if MIchelle ran for President,, at least I bet she has a Birth Certificate and people knew her when she was growing up in the USA.
Not to be insensitive, but I bet he got a very nice retirement courtesy of the taxpayers.
Huh???? And when did you eat Ann Romney’s cooking????
probably
Then Michelle should understand what Ann faces. Instead she is using it to one better as usual.

Well, hussein wants family members left out of it in the campaign... But if wookie is going to attack Mitt.. Well then I say it is game on with wookie, she just became fair game by stepping into the fray.
I keep wondering about how protective of Michelle zero likes to act when he’s the one who put her in the arena and has no problem using her for his purposes...(not that she doesn’t love the limelight and the perks also - probably more than he does).
And is this a woman who needs protecting? She could most likely beat the crap out of zero - which maybe is the answer to the question about why he likes to look protective - she told him to do this.
ms has different forms and affect people differently, mostly women get MS, and it can be ungodlt dibilitating. 75% of men wont stay with a wife who has ms. some people live all their lives with no issues, while other are totally disabled.
I wasn’t saying anything about MS, just the Mooch’s story about hard work and enjoying the fruits of one’ labour whilst her co-schmuck seeks to screw people who do work hard and try to enjouy the fruits of their labour.
I quite agree. If you want to step into the ring, expect to receive some hits.
Michelle certainly would not spend any of her own time or money taking care of her own father. If it couldn’t be done with the taxpayers money then he could rot in hell for all she cared.
[and her parents] saved for us, they sacrificed everything for us, why? Because they wanted something more for me and my brother.”
Just think They saved and sacrificed sooo much they were even able to send her to Princeton and Harvard.
No sh*t, Sherlock.
David Axelrod already spilled the beans on that.
Isn't it fascinating how RATS always point to their ability to overcome life's obstacles but then turn around and try to convince others that they'll never be able to overcome theirs? As someone in the most recent issue of National Review put it:
A successful Conservative who overcame a hardscrabble life says, "I can do it, and so can you."
A successful Liberal who overcame life's struggles says, "I can do it, but you don't have a prayer."
