Just wow! Moyer turns 50 on November 18. It would be great if he could stick around for another year.

Fast ball just 78 MPH? Man this guy must have great control and know the hitters well. But I wonder how old Satchel Paige was when he pitched for the Indians? Some say over 50.

The seven innings part is what impresses the heck out of me.
I can see an inning or two, but seven against major league players.
Wonder how many pitches?

Paige pitched one inning in 1965 for the KC Athletics. He said he was 59 at the time.

As a long-suffering M’s fan, I still remembered him when my uncle brought me to the Kingdome and he was right behind Randy Johnson as a #3. Kicked ass with ken griffey and Buhner who are all retired. Unbelievable..
To: The Cajun
My guess is that he doesnt throw too many pitches. Probably has a good catcher, too.

His official age might have been 59. Who knows how old he really was.

Impressive. A 78mph fastball puts him in league with a high school pitcher. My Dad once told me (he a long time minor leaguer) that a pitcher needs 3 good pitches, and none have to be fast—just fast enough!
And yes he played against the Fellers, (high school), and many names of that era. RIP Dad.

Satchel Paige was a machine. Too bad he didn`t get to spend his entire career in the Majors.

Makes me proud.
I can still throw 300+ at batting practice at around 55 at 62.
Hee-yaa!

Jaimie threw a complete game shutout for the Phils just a couple of years ago.
I admire the guy.
Anyway, us old guys need to stick together.

Anyway, us old guys need to stick together. I'm 65 and right now if I tried to throw something overhand with a little *Zip* on it, my wife would have to to pull on my arm for 5 -10 minutes and I would be sleeping with my shoulder on the heating pad tonight, LOL.

Looked it up. Three SCORELESS innings. The man was a phenom. Still had heat when he pitched for the Indians when he certainly was over 42.
