HOUSTON - Deputies have taken a woman into custody in the case of a newborn infant who was kidnapped and the child's mother who was shot to death.
A capital murder charge was filed against Verna Deann McClain, 30, according to a FOX 26 News contributor. He says investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office are questioning McClain, but that she has confessed to the crime.
McClain reportedly told her sister that she was about to adopt a baby, FOX 26 has learned. She told investigators she did not know Kala Golden, 28, the mother who was killed.
An Amber Alert was issued Tuesday afternoon for Keegan Schuchardt after the infant was kidnapped at a pediatrician’s office around 2:40 p.m. in the intersection of Burrough Park and Sawdust Road.
Golden was placing her newborn son inside her pickup truck when she got into an altercation with someone in a car parked next to her, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect shot Golden several times and took off with the baby.

This whole story is just awful. If there’s only one good thing about this, it’s that it happened in Texas.

He’s been released back to the family this morning. I heard on the news this morning there was some issue with the birth certificate..the father hadn’t signed it yet or something.

Not true. My sister is an RN with an AS degree. She could earn more if she completed a BS, but the state exam that makes you an RN is not contingent on having the BS.

You used to have a 4 yr degree to be an RN, 2 yrs for an LPN.
Nursing degrees have changed over the yrs.
Apparently, there’s some disagreement over whether this killer is an RN or an LVN.
not true. You can get an RN from a CC. It’s called an associates of nursing. aka.. an ADN. There are 2 types of RN’s. ADN (community college) and BSN (bachelors nurses from universities).

People do not know what the word "tragedy" means anymore.
The murderer had just had a miscarriage so she claims that is why she stole the baby according to Fox News report.
