Constitution Party National Convention to Meet in Nashville Amidst Unprecedented Voter Dissatisfaction with Obama and Romney

LANCASTER, Pa., April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Constitution Party National Chairman, Jim Clymer, announced the 2012 National Convention of the Constitution Party which will be held April 18-21 in Nashville, Tennessee.

"American voters who support limited, constitutional government, traditional American values, the protection of American jobs and preservation of individual liberty can take heart! They will not be limited to a difficult choice between Obama and Romney as the one likely to be the least threat to their life, liberty, property and other interests. The Constitution Party will be offering the Constitutional option in 2012," said Clymer.

The venue for the Constitution Party National Convention will be the beautiful Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, TN. The public is invited to attend, but registration is required and anyone wishing to do so should contact the Constitution Party national office at 717-390-1993 for further information. Registered guests will be admitted to all sessions and events, including the gala Saturday night banquet to be held after the conclusion of the Convention, but only delegates who are selected by the respective state party affiliate organizations will be allowed to vote.

Among those seeking the Constitution Party Presidential Nomination is former Congressman Virgil Goode. Goode, who represented Virginia's 5th District from 1997 – 2009, was a member of the Liberty Caucus, chaired by Ron Paul. Known in the House of Representatives for his outspoken opposition to illegal immigration, his support for trade policies that protect the interests of American workers, for limited government and for cuts in spending along with a balanced budget, Goode joined the Constitution Party in May of 2009 and is now a member of its National Executive Committee.

Other candidates seeking the Constitution Party Presidential nomination include Robby Carr Wells of North Carolina, a former NCAA Division 1 football coach at Savannah State University, Laurie Roth, of Washington, a talk show host and columnist and Susan Ducey, a constitutional activist from Kansas.

The general session of the convention, which will include adoption of the 2012 Constitution Party National Platform and the selection of the party's presidential and vice-presidential nominees, is set for Friday, April 20, and Saturday, April 21, with the presidential nominee's acceptance speech scheduled for 1:30 P.M. Saturday, April 21.

"To the millions of American voters--be they traditional Democrats who once believed that their party spoke for America's working people, honest, representative government and freedom or Republicans who used to believe that their party represented limited government, fiscal responsibility and individual liberty—who feel abandoned by their own political parties, I issue an invitation to find out about a new path for America-the Constitution Party (www.constitutionparty.com) and to join the campaign to Save America by supporting the Constitution Party Presidential ticket in 2012," concluded Clymer.

If they don’t want mitt or barry, why aren’t they supporting Newt and not some ‘no name recognition’ candidate? They are not very serious about our country, IMO.

In 2008 it was almost impossible to run a candidate who was more inexperienced than Barack Obama, but somehow The Constitution Party rose to the challenge.

It will be interesting to see how conservative their candidate is.

2 questions:

Who are they likely to nominate?

Do they have universal ballot access?

You have been here less than a week, Newbie. It is not hard to predict that you won't be very happy here. You may well not be here for long. Most here prefer to adhere to principle and really mean it. It is a conservative site and not some sort of knee-jerk Republican site. The GOP elite is determined to nominate an utterly unprincipled and despicable candidate in Myth Romney who is, at best, marginally better than the Marxist in residence at the White House, but no more than marginally. That he is an advanced money obsessive is not a conservative credential.

Romney has a life long track record as a pro-abort (just like his Daddy and his Mommy), as one who is favorable to legalizing rump-ranging perversity posing as marriage, as a gun-grabber, as a tax hiker on folks of modest means, as a nominator of truly horrific folks to judicial vacancies, as one who seems relieved to regard perverse court decisions as an excuse to abandon any pretense of conservatism on the issues that matter, as a two-faced serial liar of truly Biblical proportions who tells a whole new series of lies to each new and different constituency. Romney is the eager and willing author of Romneycare which he REFUSES to repudiate and that program not only provided for $50 abortions and has Planned Barrenhood on its board to protect the slaughter of babies at taxpayer expense but also directly spawned Obozocare.

There are regulars here who may (I stress MAY) finally decide to vote for the Mittwit (only because of the very marginally worse nature of Obozo) but none who will do so with any enthusiasm and there will be a great many who will enthusiastically refuse to vote for him altogether.

Romney's despicable and lavishly funded campaign of lies, slanders and distortions to bury each and every worthy GOP candidate under a mountain of fat cat-funded abuse with nary an ad to trumpet his own imagined (hallucinated?) virtues as a public figure. What does he owe to whom for that mountain of campaign money. How will what he owes and pays with tax money affect ordinary Americans?

If you favor Romney, by all means, say so explicitly and suffer the consequences.

You don't seriously believe that the Mittwit will achieve "limited constitutional government," do you? Even if he did, he would fall far from sufficiency without a LOT more. Remember his reputation for saving the Utah Olympics? He did it with a massive influx of federal government tax money. He would be the POTUS of the Muffy and Skipper trust fund babies and nothing more. Yet he brazenly dares to compare himself to Ronaldus Maximus when he is a mere pale echo of John McCain or Bob Dole or Bush the Elder or Gerald Ford. Like each of them, he is nothing but a loser and another nail in the coffin of the GOP and of America. Bush the Elder won one election because he ran in the afterglow of Ronaldus Maximus and because the Demonrats gave him the ultimate gift of uber-boring leftist technocrat Michael "Snoopy" Dukakis (apologies to Charles Schulz's worthy beagle Snoopy) as an opponent.

We have alternatives. We can vote for Tom Hoefling of the American Independent Party who FReeps as Eternal Vigilance whom I prefer. We can vote for Virgil Goode on the Constitution Party which I believe to be a flawed candidacy and party but quite superior to Romney. We can vote by write-in for Sarah Palin or any of a number of other conservatives (Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Michelle Bachmann, Herman Cain, Marco Rubio, etc.), or vote only the down-ticket and only for the candidates worth electing.

I refuse to encourage spineless "GOP" unprincipled moneybags, salivating over a new opportunity to financially rape this nation to pad their windtunnel grandkiddies' trust funds, just ONE more time. Listen hard to the Romneybots chuckling up their gartered sleeves about how they can buy the nomination and the party and how actual conservatives (whom the elite deem neanderthals as the elite chat while watching those stirring polo matches) will have no place else to turn on election day than to elect their unprincipled money maven. I intend to prove them wrong and I suspect that I am not going to be lonely here in proving them wrong.

If politics is just about "winning," then we can offer the GOP nomination to Hillary Clinton and her satanic majesty would have no difficulty putting Obozo away. Why should we do that? Because politics is about "WINNING." But what would WE win? Only a bit less than with Myth, but, hey, it would be a more guaranteed "WIN!!!". AND, she would attract votes from more parts of the electorate than Myth will ever attract. And she is a lead pipe cinch not to advance any of those embarrassing "conservative" principles. You find her irresistible, don't you? You can admit it. Don't be bashful.

Again, if you favor Romney (or Hillary for that matter), say so explicitly. Ciao!

a great many who will enthusiastically refuse to vote for him altogether.

And some of us that are and will actively campaign against Romney. GOP screwed the pooch when they turned their dirty tricks machine on conservatives.

I didn't leave them, they left me.

Thanks. Greatly appreciated. But, for the record, we're America's Party.

The American Independent Party is a separate organization, albeit one with which we often find common cause.

Politics is about winning, and unfortunately that requires the ability to attract voters from all parts of the electorate. Just voting for the “TRUE CONSERVATIVE” (or is it “true conservative”) is not a formula for winning.

I'm a Conservative. I'm not a Conservative 364 days out of the year, and then turn liberal on voting day and pull the level for a socialist with an (R) next to his name.

Voting for liberals like Romney with an (R) means you're voting for liberals. They maybe going down the road to socialism slightly slower than the liberals with (D) next to their name, but they are still going down it.

I wish I could say I figured that I out when I was 5, but the GOP has been screwing me, you, and everybody else over with Big Government liberals continuously since 1988.

There platform is pretty good. With one glaring problem...they are isolationist like Ron Paul. That is NOT good foreign policy. To be fair they call themselves “Non Interventionists”....however that actually equates to “Isolationists.”

Ideological purity usually has a price, and that’s losing.

Don't confuse ideological purity with just HATING EVIL. Mitt the maggot is evil.

That's losing all right, losing one nation under God into the hands of Evil or Evil - take your pick. Just different flavors this time - but they have the same dirt.

Patriots vote to give AMERICA THE BEST to lead her - NEWT that WANTS TO and is more than ABLE to restore her to all her glory back under the Constitution.
