President Barack Obama has an ambitious plan for Washington bureaucrats to take command of the oceans—and with it control over much of the nation’s energy, fisheries, even recreation in a move described by lawmakers as the ultimate power grab to zone the seas.
The massive undertaking also includes control over key inland waterways and rivers that reach hundreds of miles upstream, and began with little fanfare when Obama signed an executive order in 2010 to protect the aquatic environment.
“This one to me could be the sleeping power grab that Americans will wake up to one day and wonder what the heck hit them,” said Rep. Bill Flores (R –Texas).
“This is pure administrative fiat,” said Sen. David Vitter (R –La.). “It’s very troubling.”
“This is purely a unilateral administrative action with no real congressional input or oversight,” Vitter said. “I think it clearly threatens to have a big impact on a lot of industry, starting with energy, oil and gas, and fishing.”
But in his zeal to curb sea sprawl, lawmakers say the president’s executive order also gives Washington officialdom unprecedented reach to control land use as well.

This sounds like UN agenda 21 type treaty. Unconstitutional executive orders are just complained about or complicity assumed Obama has the power. It is hard to understand why there is no challenge to this. Our problem is bigger than Obama.
House Republicans are fighting back by tightening the purse strings they control and hope that by cutting off funding to implement the policy, and putting a stop to officials they believe are siphoning money away from other programs, they can block it from going forward.
Rep. Hal Rogers (R -Ky.), who heads the powerful House Appropriations Committee, has been asked to put a stop to the administration’s “cloaked funding” by Rep. Doc Hastings (R–Wash.), chairman of the House Resources Committee.
“The Obama administration continues to move forward with zoning the oceans through implementation of the president’s National Ocean Policy without requesting funding specifically for this broad initiative and without answering basic questions about how funds are currently being diverted from other missions to fund this initiative,” Hastings said in an April 2 letter to Rogers.
This administration is also full of Clinton people. Progress the agenda in increments...regardless of figure head.
Obama in another term will be the end of this nation. If that is what people want, they should just be open about it.
I hate romney, but I also hate bernie madoff and joran vandersloot. If Madoff/Vanderloot were running against Obama - i would vote for that as well.

Too many Freepers will continue to insist there is no difference between Obama and Romney.
He will own America’s lands and seas, regulate every aspect of our lives and then have us brought up on charges of domestic terrorism when we get too vocal and agitated, at which time we could be denied legal counsel and held indefinitely. Much of this is already in place through his executive orders to date.
Here is what I dont get with people refusing to vote for romney and wisihng for an obama second term.
Obama = 100% committed leftist communist traitor and ne-jihadi muslim tyrant.
Romney = RINO who will 75% chance dissapont us and muke us sick on many occassions. However, since he flip flops, there is stil a chance, even if small, that he will do the right thing.
Given the nature of Obama and the fact that he is intentionally trying to collapse the nation, I think the 15% - 25% chance Romney may be ok is worth taking the risk given the threat we face.
That is not an endorsement of Romney, but a gamble given the certain doom we face with four more years of ghettobama.

I would vote for Joran Vandersloot / BTK Killer / Jack the Ripper / Charles Manson / Scott peterson / O.J. / Zodiak Killer / whoever vs obama at this point.
Sometimes, it’s wiser to pull your opponent in the direction that he-she is pushing. Stop producing energy. Stop fishing. Stop playing the water. Saturate our population with the news that such activities are outlawed.
It will cut off a major portion of their revenues, and they can’t run on debt and ever more worthless currency indefinitely. Oh, and avoid the polls, too, unless you want this tyrannical debt regime to drag on for extra years. Get out of the way. Avoid buying anything that you don’t really need. Become more independent each month. Let them consume one another.

Because neither side of the aisle has any power. Obama and his radical csars are running the show. It’s almost like there are two separate governments. It’s been like that from the beginning. Obama hasn’t worked with congress from day one. The executive branch has total control of the entire congress and the media.
