Mitt Romney will take a victory lap before members of the Republican National Committee when the party meets at an annual event in Scottsdale, Ariz., this week
While Romney is not formally the party's nominee yet -- he has not clinched the 1,144 delegates required to secure the nomination, and two other candidates remain in the race -- party rules all but guarantee he will win enough delegates to claim the nomination on the first ballot at the GOP's convention in Tampa. Recognizing that reality, Romney and the RNC set up a joint fundraising account earlier this month to begin raising the big bucks it will take to compete in the fall.
And yet Romney won't be speaking to an entirely friendly crowd. While he has secured support from the bulk of the committee's members, at least two state party chairs support other candidates. A.J. Spiker, who heads the Iowa Republican Party, backs Rep. Ron Paul, while Georgia Republican Party chairwoman Sue Everhart is bound by party rules to back former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

The RNC has just desfranchized ALL the Republican voters in 19 states out of 50.
They don’t need your votes, folks.
Call RNC and tell them what you think:
202.863.8500
what a putz
I hope he loses all of the remaining primaries
They do not want or need our votes in November either
EXACTLY!
“Are there many grey-colored states left where people have not voted? Well, guess what New York voters? You dont matter! Neither do voters in Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, and any other state who has not yet apportioned their delegates. It doesnt matter voters in these states could affect the outcome of this race, if enough people are told and believe that their voice is irrelevant, then it truly becomes irrelevant. After all, if someone believes that his or her vote will not make any difference, how many people would waste his or her time to go to the polls?”

We need to stop this nonsense and have closed primaries on the same day in all of the States.
“We need to stop this nonsense and have closed primaries on the same day in all of the States.”
FULLY AGREE!
Maybe he'll begin his "lap" in the hotel kitchen.
Romney is pre-ordained and annointed already by the RNC and GOP-e. Why even have a convention at this point if that’s their position?
The truth is that Romney does not have enough delegates to claim the title of Republican nominee. He has 573 bound delegates and needs 571 more. To claim otherwise is wishful thinking at best, and an outright lie at worst.
By calling the process over before it is over, as many RINOs, media and pundits are attempting to do, will likely create feeling of disenfranchisement and crack open greater fissures in the Republican base. After all, if a Gingrich or Paul supporter thought the system rigged or that his or her candidate were cheated through early disqualification, that belief might cause thousands of Republican voters to abandon the GOP “annointed one”.
Thank you for voting!

Do you think if anyone but the GOPe candidate had only half the required delegates the media and GOPe would be saying “the race is over” and “we need to rally around so and so”? No chance.
The GOP already lost me by throwing Mitt at us. He’s not getting my vote... ever.
I still have a primary and I WILL vote for MY candidate, not the “anointed”!
They can stick it!
There are 2,286 delegates at stake in the 2012 Republican presidential primaries, that figure means that one candidate must accumulate 50% plus one in order to become the nominee, or 1144 delegates. ONLY 1,034 out of 2,286 delegates have been allocated so far, 101 of them unbound. So have any of the candidates reached the magic number? As of April 6th, the RNC had Romneys pledged delegate at 573 or half of needed delegates.
Romney is NOT the nominee, far from it. He only won 4 million votes out of 11.5 million, or 41% of the total. 59% of the voters in primaries voted against him.
That's the only fair way to do it.
Done! Can you ping everyone to your post so they can do their part too?

“Just called the RNC to request removal from the mailing list. If you want to do the same, here is the number:
202.863.8500
When they asked why, I said the GOP has gone too far in pushing Romney on us and the conservative base has had enough, especially now with this meeting Friday between Romney and state Chairs for “victory lap” when, in fact, this primary is far from over.”
I called the #.
The young dude said that the primary is over Romney will be the nominee cuz Santorum dropped out.
I told him I would pass the message along to the GOP committee here in town.
“Maybe he’ll begin his “lap” in the hotel kitchen.”
Maybe he’ll just jump in Ann’s lap. :)

Let’s bring the favorable under 50% :
The RNC has just desfranchized ALL the Republican voters in 19 states out of 50.
What do you mean, Marguerite? My Rino friends, registered Republicans all, are thrilled with the RNC...as well as with Mittens Romney, their heir apparent.
Maybe you mean to say that the RNC has disenfranchised all Conservative Republican voters, that tiny minority.
FReeped.
Counting his chickens before they are hatched. I won’t vote for romney and I won’t vote for Obama.
Guess it’s a write-in for me.
I think we need to mount a HUGH write-in campaign for Newt and blow the secret underwear off Willard.

The funniest tweet of the day:
Q: Why did Mitt Romney put his dog on top of the car?
A: So that Barack Obama wouldn’t eat it.
I wouldn't mind having say five sequential primary dates, with first voters being the reddest states, and the bluest states last.
The RNC didn’t get the message in 2008.
Check out this:
