God’s Unfailing Love

April 19, 2012

The Old Testament book of Hosea is the story of God’s faithful love for His unfaithful people. In what seems strange to us, the Lord commanded Hosea to marry a woman who would break her marriage vows and bring grief to him (Hosea 1:2-3). After she deserted Hosea for other men, the Lord told him to take her back—a picture of “the love of the Lord for the children of Israel, who look to other gods” (3:1).

Later, Hosea was called upon to tell the Israelites that because of their rebellion against the Lord, they would be carried away into captivity by a foreign power. “Tumult shall arise among your people, and all your fortresses shall be plundered” (10:14).

Yet in the midst of their sin and punishment, the grace of God toward His people was never exhausted. In a grace-filled exhortation, He said: “Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till He comes and rains righteousness on you” (10:12).

Even when we have “plowed wickedness” and “reaped iniquity” (10:13), God does not stop loving us. Whatever our situation today, we can turn to the Lord and find forgiveness to make a new start. His love never fails!

The Lord bestows unfailing love,
Forgiving when we fall
And then repent and turn to Him,
Responding to His call. —Sper
No force is greater than the power of God’s love.

Read: Hosea 10:9-15

Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; . . . for it is time to seek the Lord. —Hosea 10:12

Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*...hope you had a good day. New deadlines?

How are the legs feeling?

I am so thankful I did all my homework last night....SO many corrections needing to be made. I was correcting right up to the deadline...asked for and granted 10 extra minutes. I think I got them all made. I will look at them tomorrow.

I’m just about ready to head out....I am so tired. LOL!

Not a bad day, thanks! Was still feeling fairly puny today. We added 9 new people to our project - The Keystone Kops routine should start about 10:00 a.m. tomorrow when they finish their training and actually start working.

The legs are feeling like jelly, thank you! :) Had an arduous session of PT this evening - was able to get through all of the exercises okay. Tomorrow morning I will be in a world of pain.

Saw my PCP this morning for a routine follow up. My LDL is down to 62 - BP was a little high - going back on Hyzaar.

We were below 60 this afternoon - 51 at 10:45 pm. Looking for a high around 70 tomorrow. I guess Spring is finally here - I'd be surprised to see another freeze this season. My son Daniel is pushing for the tomatoes to go in the ground - still too early for that.

Yes I do have my shorts on, as a matter of fact! I wear them to PT to make it easy for the tech to connect the electrodes to my left thigh. :) Then it's five minutes of bent-leg leg lifts followed by five minutes of straight-leg leg lifts. What was that Cole Porter song? "Heaven! I'm in Heaven!" - etc.

Godspeed our Troops around the Globe – especially those in harm’s way – by virtue of their service and sacrifice we continue to live in Freedom!

Nos genuflectitur ad non princeps sed Princeps Pacem!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

The melt heads down the street, pooling at any dip. The drain on my side must be a little open as no lake on this side. Now the other side...a lake is forming. With all the sun, lots of the melt evaporates.

Shorts on. Window open. Sun shining brightly. A pair of ducks in the back yard...BRB...gonna go throw them some corn.

Classic, Connie! Thanks very much! I'll be thinking of that song until I drift off to Mondo Dodo!

Now I really am going off to bed!

You know I love ducks as long as they are not in swimming pools!:) So cute....

When will the sun go down this evening?

At least you don’t have to worry about the car starting this time of year right?

Aloha Doc!

All's well, better than well actually. We have an new addition to the family, born April 14th. My brother (grandfather) finally gave me official notification today but only after I found out the hard way a day earlier. Sometimes it pays to have been a Spook.
