Why haven't I seen this obvious alteration mentioned anywhere? The shading around the bodies looks off too.

Would appreciate any comments from those more experienced than me. But that soldiers hand in the top of the photo is definitely missing. Which makes the whole thing suspect to me.

I think his hand is behind the dead guy, holding him up for the camera.

It just looks like it is illuminated with a spotlight. Not photoshop.

Well that’s obviously Howdy Doodie’s head pasted on the Gates body.

The shadows in this photo make no sense at all.

Where did you get it? What's the source?

Sorry...the LA Times. It’s the same pic I’ve seen anywhere.

Shadows wrong? Looks like shadows from a flash on a camera. Sorry, but...

You know, it looks like the gloved left hand of the soldier on the left disappears into the left arm of the dead mooselimb on the floor, and the shadows don’t like right either, although I can’t out my finger on exactly why.

If this is another case of our propaganda media manufacturing infammatory news, the I propse they be shut down permanently and jailed.

I really don’t need news if it’s nothing but lies.

ABC Lies. World Lies Tonight. Fox Lies Network.

Let’s start calling them what they are.

Perhaps, perhaps not.

Is the ascending dark line on the insurgent's left lapel a shadow, or is that a physical part of his jacket?

Look at the shadows cast. Not only shopped but badly done so.

Also, the shadow of the gloved hand on the soldier in the back has a hard edge to it about one or two pixels thick. This hard edge is considerably darker than the shadow itself. Do natural shadows have hard edges to them that are darker in color than the rest of the shadow?

Here's where the insurgent's lapel crosses before the soldier in the back's hand. This is @ 1200x:

Is this piping, or is this a shadow? If it's a shadow, shouldn't its line fall behind the soldier's uniform, not in front of it?

And if it's a shadow, what kind of shadow has hard borders around it? So maybe it's piping. But then, what's going on in the gloved clip I posted above?

If his hand is behind his back, why does the sheet go around his wrist, rather than over it.

I swear when I first saw it, I thought the soldier had had his hand amputated.

Based on the fact it looks like the guy is lying on the floor, practically on his back, how would they manipulate is had up on to the guy’s shoulder? He must have 6ft long arms.

Sorry, I’m an amature, but this whole pic looks very odd to me.

You’re pixel-peeping some 10th generation pic downloaded off the Internet. I’m as suspicious of the media as the next guy, but nothing strikes me as extraordinary in this picture. There’s very harsh lighting from a close light source (presumably, the flash).
