Texas Gov. Rick Perry this morning endorsed David Dewhurst for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison... In a tweet this morning, Dewhurst (@DavidHDewhurst) declared, “I’m honored that veteran and conservative champion @GovernorPerry is endorsing our campaign for U.S. Senate"... Perry praised Dewhurst’s loyalty and said he was glad to return the favor.

Pretty much seals the deal for me.

I thought Dewhurst was an insider. This confirms it.

Ted Cruz is my man, especially after the early attack ad run by Dewhurst.

Perry is a CROOKED CRONY. No more crony politics.

Dammit. Perry must still be taking his back pain drugs.

Cruz all the way.

All you Texas Freepers. Dewhurst is just another professional politician. Don’t vote for him. Ted Cruz is the real deal.

I agree! If you are going to vote for Dewhurst, hell just write in Kay Bailout-Hutchinson - he is the same "conservative in Texas, liberal in DC" person that he would be replacing!

TED CRUZ - all the way!

Perry wouldn’t have won his home state. Cruz is going to cruise to victory, and Perry can’t do a damn thing about it.

Ted Cruz is the Paul “Obamacare Oral Argument God” Clement of Texas, the conservative who’s able to articulate CONSERVATISM in a clear way off-the-cuff.

I can’t speak to Dewhurst, although it is hardly surprising that the sitting governor endorses his own sitting LtGov. It would have been considered a big slap if Perry did otherwise, would it not?

Unfortunately, it looks like Dewhurst is holding a big (if slightly decreasing) lead in RCP poll averages.

Shame on you FR Perry supporters.

He wants to send another RINO to the senate.

Perry is no friend to the Tea-Party.

Dewhurst? WTF Perry? I will be voting for Lela Pittenger if she can get some traction. Or Cruz if she doesn’t.

Pretty sure Lela's not getting any traction.

I met her back in 2010 when everyone though KBH was going to retire (until the final filing deadline, I wasn't entirely sure she would retire this time); she's very nice, passionate, etc., but she honestly never had a chance.

That's an assinine thing to say. It's not his supporter's fault that he favors loyalty to his lt Governor.

Remember when Sarah Palin endorsed McCain for Senate? That wasn't a shame on Palin supporters.

It seems that Perry has finally found a Hispanic that he DOESN’T love.

I can’t help remembering all the people on this site SHOUTING that he was such a conservative, including that Ohio babe.

Oh well, I guess I was right - he’s OWNED by the Establishment.

My world ended when Cheney endorsed Mittens the other day.

I won’t even have a Sarah entry on the ballot to focus on while I pull the lever for.... man, I can’t even say it.

>> That's an assinine thing to say. It's not his supporter's fault that he favors loyalty to his lt Governor. <<

No, it was his supporters who kept telling us what a heroic tea party conservative he was that would shake up the establishment, when his record showed the opposite -- he IS the establishment.

>> Remember when Sarah Palin endorsed McCain for Senate? That wasn't a shame on Palin supporters. <<

McCain plucked Sarah Palin from obsurity and made her a national figure, she owed him big time. Perry does not owe Dewhurst for his career, it's the other way around. Just rewarding one of his lackey's.
