CNN Poll: Gender gap and likeability keep Obama over Romney.
Politicalticker Blogs/CNN ^ | April 16, 2012 | Paul Steinhauser

Even though Santorum is out of the race for the White House and Romney is the all but certain nominee, the battle for the GOP nomination technically continues. According to the survey, 57% of Republicans say that Romney is their choice for the GOP nominee, with 19% backing Gingrich and 18% supporting Paul.

Contrary to what these numbers appear to be at first look, there is actually some movement for Newt, about 5 points, and, considering the polls were taken in the 3-day period when the MSM, the conservative media, the talk show hosts were crowning and proclaiming Romney the nominee, that is not too bad...

A lot of us have been praying for Newt, and some of us, myself included, have set as the next newt goal in our hearts, getting to 30%... the average of these polls is about 23%, we are getting there. IF he can pull out DE or NC he will be at 30%! Day by day, one step at a time. Next stop - 30%

30 on fire

Which poll do ya believe? Gallup has Romney ahead of Obama, who does have personal charm, but his politics are deadly.

Any poll that has Paul at 18% of the electorate is crack.

Likeability? This is like a charm contest between a liver fluke and a heartworm.

Likeability - how in the world does Obama score on likeability? His nastiness shows in his face, his snottiness is there in every remark he makes. There is nothing likeable about him.

Totally INVENTED horse crap...No one and I mean absolutely no one can have this many negatives and have so many people skip past their pain to say that he is better. No one is that dumb. This is purposeful CNN invention. They are NOT to be trusted, nor NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC (specially)and most others. This kind of push polling will continue throughout the campaign of distortion and lies.

Uh, I posted it as a springboard to my comment on Newt's inching up in the polls, despite the wall-to-wall coverage of Willard's coronation... that's what I was trying to get a acroos. Looks like I didn't do a very good job :)

There is NO GENDER GAP. And I will repeat that often.
The so-called deficit among women voters comes from one source -- the fact that 95% of black voters, half of whom are women, are voting for Obama. And that skews the overall number.

You can target all women, but the women you need to get aren't "gettable".

You could just as easily say that it's the poor putting Obama over the top. Last survey I saw, Obama and Romney (didn't see a generic GOP candidate) were split pretty evenly at all income levels EXCEPT below $50,000, where Obama has an edge, but not as big of an edge as he had over McCain in 2008.

I'm hoping we will start to hear lots of barking from the audience at barack's rallies... that kind of stuff gets to him, he can't stand being ridiculed. He'll lost his grip!

Actually, I think there is in every election, a gender gap, I mean. The GOP gets painted as the bogeymen who want to make children starve, and let granny die alone, and a lot of women, every ethnicity, buy into it. It is changing, though, at least I hope so.

Note from the RNC - Dear Republicans, skip past your pain and vote for Mitt. Sincerely, The King Georgers..

And exactly how would that be when Romney is their chosen leftist "Republican" tool? It's possible you are mistaking leftist crapping for a leftist a love-feast.

My thoughts exactly, and that is why I call complete BS on this poll.

Now I could understand the likeability factor with Bill Clinton, but not with Zero. There is NOTHING likeable about Zero. Hell I don't even think the true believers would rate him likeable.

You don't have to be likeable if you are metro, don'tcha know?

Romney will be making Obama look like a real Greek G-d with his Thurston Howell, plastic Ken doll persona.

Leftist against leftist is no excitement anyhow. Sick of this total leftist arena...

Let them continue to say this stuff. Question: Why would anyone believe this pole (as in means of pole vaulting Obama) over a Rasmussen Obama down 5 among likely voters or even Gallup poll Obama down 5 with registered voters but he fell 3 points just since Monday? Look it up.

As I wrote earlier, I don't care about the poll re obama and romney, I posted the source to quote the numbers that had newt making some very consistent moderate progress...

As far as I am concerned, I am expecting both obama and romney to fall in the polls... but at this point, I dont' really care about either... this was actually for Newt supporters, but sorry if you support Mitt, didn't mean to upset you :)
