There were 569 people on the island the day that Anders Behrig Breivik opened fire — and he told a court on Thursday he would have liked to kill them all — including beheading former premier Gro Harlem Brundtland.
He also said he wanted to post a video of Bruntland’s execution on the Internet.
Breivik murdered 77 people last July, in the Utoya island shooting spree and an Oslo bombing. In addition to beheading the former premier, Breivik planned three — not one — car bombs and a death toll of several hundred people.
In the bomb attack in Oslo, he said his goal “…was to kill the entire Norwegian government, including the PM… and everyone in the building.”
or the third location, he considered parliament, Norway’s Aftenposten newspaper and City Hall, before deciding on the royal palace, although he insisted he had planned to warn the royal family so they would not be hurt.
He said he then planned to ride a motorcycle to a far-left squatter community, then to the Dagsavisen daily and finally to the headquarters of the Socialist Left Party, “executing as many people as possible” in each place.
But it turned out to be much more difficult than he expected to build bombs, so he ended up only bombing the government offices and then heading to Utoya, where “the goal was to kill everybody.”
During his killing spree, he first blew up a van filled with 950 kilograms of explosives at the foot of the tower housing the offices of Labour Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, who was not present at the time.
He then travelled to Utoeya island where, dressed as a police officer, he methodically shot for more than an hour at hundreds of people at a Labour Party youth summer camp, taking

Yes , I am sure you are right, but evil and sick do go hand and hand, one can repent of the evil in their life, the reason they don’t is sickness and weakness, fostered by hate..

Yes, but he’s more a symptom.
The real sickness is their society. They don’t allow free speech anymore, so people on the edge take other, more drastic actions. And they don’t know how to identify and deal with pure evil.
No, he wasn’t he had about 400 rounds still available when he dropped his weapon and surrendered.
Really? I could swear the running news said he was out of ammo and unable to follow his plan of using the last on himself?
That he didn’t use it on himself seems to me to make the case that he is sane.

So when the police arrived, after having stumbled around for a while, he didn’t have ammo handy but would have to return to his stash?
Because he just surrendered immediately.
