(CBS/AP) SANFORD, Fla. - A judge has granted bail for George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer charged with killing Florida teenager Trayvon Martin.

Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester said he would grant the motion to release Zimmerman, but would not allow his release today, given further discussions needed about the terms, including whether he would be allowed out of state.

He also said that Zimmerman would not be able to have any contact with the victim's family, could not possess firearms; and order no consumption of alcohol or controlled substances.

He can have his pick of attorneys for free. I hope he’s getting some good advice. They’ll try to charge him a fee, but any of the bast@rds would give their firstborn child to get this case. The TV time alone will be bring in millions.

I respectfully want to stay in jail,

If they want him, do you think it's safe in jail?

Have either one of you ever spent any time in jail, I have, all you want is out.

Out side, your wife can be armed, inside, you are a sitting duck.

I guess I should have followed the usual rule-of-thumb: don't believe anything Geraldo says.

This morning he had to admit his earlier assessment of Afghanistan was wrong.

>"could not possess firearms;"

George is no longer a US citizen? or Tyrannical power grab by the judiciary sworn to uphold the constitution?

Someone who is labeled White got bail, therefor Whitey must die in every state and the shops of Whitey in every state must be looted and vandalized.

...that is the view that tends to play out...

I am really not sure this judge has the right to forbid him to carry firearms or to wear a monitoring device. The idea of bail is to let someone who has NOT been convicted of a crime out of jail. Since he is still not guilty the law says he can come and go as he pleases while out on bail. He is not on probation. If I was his lawyer I would raise he** about this BS. The last thing this guy needs is to go around unarmed with 90% of the blacks in this country wanting him dead.

Glad he was granted bond. I guess liberals have been too busy crying about the “rights” of victims at Guantanamo that they forgot that ACTUAL US citizens are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a jury of their peers.

The monitoring device is a glaring weakness, as far as attempting to maintain an undisclosed location for Zimmerman’s personal safety.

One dirty or weak individual who can be bought is all it would take.

An unconvicted person can’t possess a firearm, can’t drink alcohol, must wear a monitoring device? Those are punishments. In America the accused are innocent until proven guilty.

Uganda and Detroit seem to have similar societies.

What do they have in common?
