I posted something along the same lines and got hammered for it. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2869597/posts

It was a stupid, sad incident. Two seconds of actual talking and Martin would be alive and Zimmerman would not have taking a life on his conscience.

I didn’t see your note as something that was entirely off base at all. It’s both of our takes that Trayvon probably wasn’t the worst kid around. We still don’t know his full background though, and I’m afraid it was worse than we are led to believe.

The ‘grill photo’ and his being kicked out of school three times in the last month (I believe he was), leads me to think he had taken a turn for the worse.

My emphasis was that it shouldn’t be seen as a convicting factor that Zimmerman may have followed Trayvon, if he did. There is no evidence now according to the investigator that he did, so I want to make that clear. None the less, one man following another is not grounds to throw him to the ground and pummel him. I think the media has gone a long way to make it seem like it would be okay.

Where you may have gone wrong was to mention that you prayed for Trayvon, and that no 17 year old kid deserves to die. (I’m doing this from memory, and may be off base a bit.) Some 17 year olds do deserve to die, unfortunately. Some 17 year olds do some horrendous things.

I know what you were trying to say, and I’m not offended by your presentation.

I am saddened when evil people get their just rewards. I think God is also, and so that’s my ultimate guide.

Evil people make so many wrong choices. I can never escape thinking of what could have been, and I know God knows the answer to that. It’s all very sad really.

Hey, you take care.
