After saying Obama on ‘similar path’ as Hitler/Stalin, Illinois bishop hit with IRS complaint

PEORIA, Illinois – After a fiery homily last weekend urging the faithful to oppose [Alleged] President Obama’s “radical pro-abortion and extreme secularist agenda” at the ballot box in November, Bishop Daniel Jenky of Peoria has been hit with an IRS complaint from a national secularist lobby group.

At a gathering of Catholic men on Saturday, the Illinois prelate had slammed Obama’s mandate forcing religious employers to cover contraceptives, sterilizations, and abortion-inducing drugs. The unprecedented attack on religious freedom, he said, signaled that the president “seems intent on following a similar path” as past dictators such as Hitler, Stalin, and Otto von Bismarck.

“This fall, every practicing Catholic must vote, and must vote their Catholic consciences, or by the following fall our Catholic schools, our Catholic hospitals, our Catholic Newman Centers, all our public ministries - only excepting our church buildings – could easily be shut down,” he said.

On Thursday, the Washington-based Americans United for Separation of Church and State claimed the homily violated federal law by taking sides in a political campaign.

Nice.

You’ll notice that the clip is from three years ago. But, he warned folks about Obama eight years ago. Accurately called him a marxist way back then. And was roundly mocked for it. And not just by Democrats.

Looks like this one will “play in Peoria” and will be good for the rest of the Nation.

Has an IRS complaint ever been filed against the First AME church? Didn’t think so. RAT candidates go there and give campaign speeches from the pulpit.

I can see his point as a Catholic. But really. Bismark in the same category of mass murders. Hitler, Stalin. Give me a break.
No one was killed. Bismark did not seek to extinguish Catholicism in his land, but rather sought to assimilate the Polish peasants and saw International Catholicism as an enemy of the still fragile German Reich.

When the “campaign” is against the church, I think the church is allowed to speak out.

Great pics. As others have noted here, Black churches have been preaching Democrat politics for decades. This is a shot over the bow to the Catholic Church to shut up. Libs don’t want this kind of thing to spread!

The word "gathering" (rather than Mass) threw me. Looking further, he did indeed say his words as a homily during Mass.

Youtube of his homily. More details at Catholic.org

Imperative that everyone read this...

Leni please ping others on your list. Great article to read and the book is even better. Once you read this book you will have a very clear understanding of what is at play right now.

It is quite the eye-opener and you just won’t believe that you are not reading about America right now when you read about Germany in the 30’s.

The Democrats have good lawyers who tell them how to avoid hassles. Typically, a Dem politician who wants to campaign from the pulpit RENTS the church for his event, which just happens to occur at a time otherwise scheduled for church services. Thus it is legally a political rally that happens to occur in a rented church building.

The churches in California where there are Masses in Spanish
regularly hold political meetings in the church school concerning rents for illegal aliens, health services, deportations, politics etc. with LULAC, La Raza, people there, etc.

Saw one in 1990`s where even the Mayor of a large city was attending a meeting in the church school viz above to answer protest by radical Latino groups.
The bishop there always brought Mexican priests up from Mexico to replace the English-speaking pastors where there was demand for a Spanish-language Mass coz none or hardly any of the Latino parishoners spoke any English.
The pastor, from Mexico, also spoke at the meeting about some of the above issues.
No one ever sued for separation of church and state then, This has been going on since the 1980`s as far as I can recollect.

Another double standard.

This is BS as I went to a Black church for Easter Friday services and we were treated to calls to support T. Martin, to pick up our voting applications, that the black community was under attack all across this Country.... I was the only white in attendance and at some point the Black Theology died down once the alternative pastors were aware of the ghost in their midst of dark evil vile anti-American race bating announcements to the black attendees.

Our military was created to destroy foreign enemies.

Our bureaucracies were created to destroy the government’s domestic enemies.

Our pictures say 1,00 words, don’t they?

Too bad the driveby (DNC) media doesn’t tell folks about this along with their “IRS is investigating the good bishop” story....

That should be Kampf, not Kamp. Kampf means fight or struggle but not war which is Krieg.

Think of Hilter’s book (My Struggle).
