Adelson family gives more to pro-Gingrich super PAC (Under-reported!)

The Adelson family continues to be the major benefactor behind the super PAC supporting Newt Gingrich's candidacy, Winning Our Future.

While Nevada casino mogul Sheldon Adelson - who has donated $7.5 million to the group - did not give more in March, his wife Dr. Miriam Adelson contributed an additional $5 million last month, according to a report filed late Friday night with the Federal Election Commission. All totaled she has given $12.5 million and the family has given more than $20 million.

The family's contributions to Winning Our Future are a major reason the group has been able to continue operating. In total the group has raised $23 million.

It brought in $5,051,082 last month, meaning almost all of its receipts were from Miriam Adelson's one contribution, which came on March 21.

The PAC has $5.8 million cash on hand. It spent just over $1.5 million last month supporting Gingrich's candidacy at a time when his run for president faced major financial problems and questions about its viability.

As the left and right pravda media continue to ridicule Newt ( bit by penguin; bounced check, $4M in debt- costing taxpayer $30M a day in Secret Service- etc, ad infinitum)– the most under-reported story is, in fact, the most intriguing one.

1. Based on filings yesterday, Newt’s PAC has SIX (6) Million dollars on hand– (on par with Romney's PAC)

2. The Adelsons donated Five (5) Million dollars to the PAC on MARCH 21.

Questions:

1. Clearly, Newt’s PAC is conserving its resources- why?

2. Despite all reports to the contrary, the Adelsons continue to contribute big money to Newt– the March 21 contributions came after Newt’s losses in Al and Miss; and after all the reports that the Adelsons were ready to support Romney. Why?

My answers- Neither Newt, nor the Adelsons, have surrendered to the GOP-e. Newt is husbanding his resources- hoping for an opening.

YES, you realize Obama mush be defeated; however, I think you do not really understand why and what principles are the basis for this necessary outcome.

For instance, those that would compromise and sacrifice the moral issues for the sake of the fiscal issues, are those who simply want their king in the throne. RNC establishment strategy: Publish no poll numbers; spread the word that Romney is the nominee; have people vote based on blackout and misinformation expecting Romney to win big; then hit hard with Romney’s wins and Newt’s losses to bully Newt into dropping.

Please do yourself the honor of reviewing actual polls by doing a Google search for “2012 Republican presidential polls (name state)” and you will see why the RNC is using this tactic. Then spread the word!

I think you underestimate the influence that Free Republic has on America. Dan Rather is no longer at CBS due largely to the Patriots here at Jim Robinson's site for Conservative Activism. The membership here is at least 300,000. Each FReeper probably know at least 50 others so the direct "point-of-sale" totals around 1.5 million. The very best of America is found here at FR and FReepers are well engaged to amount to a force well beyond their numbers.

More generally, look at what life was like when Newt Gingrich's revolution took hold in the 90's.

• Clinton and liberalism were neutralized.
• The economy was booming.
• Gas prices were around a dollar (less here in Texas).
• Unemployment was near record lows.
• Intrusive government was held in check.

Obviously, I'm enthused about what our country would be like under the leadership of President Newt Gingrich. He's a man of conviction, intelligence and bravery. I really think a remarkable upsurge for Newt is on the horizon. America will be far better off when President Gingrich takes the Oath of Office this coming January 2013.

In regard to the presidential race, I myself am taking the position for now that until the convention is a done deal that conservatives still have options. Those who are resigned to Romney now because of the media are like sheep.

Competition e.g. the primaries is not only about the people that will REPRESENT it is as well about the ideas that will be represented and who best will carry the conservative banner premised upon their pledge to embrace the ideas; embrace the platform.

If Romney even wants to have a chance to get my vote then he will have to earn it and that entails adopting the conservative platform RATHER than asking people to pledge to him and sign on the dotted line HE NEEDS to make a pledge to the ideas, some of which he has a history of not promoting.

Again, we elect an executive and not a King and I could care less how he feels as long as he promotes and adheres to the platform e.g. He will IMPOSE upon the left if necessary to execute conservative governance; RATHER than compromise conservative principle with a lame politically correct disclaimer stating a belief in conservative principle but no wish to 'impose' such principle.

We require an unapologetic conservative -not a metrosexual toe tipping pansy that looks good in a suit!
