Democrats Are Jumping Ship
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 04/20/2012 | Masthead Editorial

Politics: Perhaps Democrats know something the rest of us don't about Barack Obama's political fortunes. What else explains the increasing numbers who are openly defying the president on two key election issues?

The notoriously thin-skinned Obama could not have been happy with the news last week that, as the Hill newspaper put it, "an increasing number of Democrats are taking potshots at President Obama's health care law."

North Carolina's Brad Miller, who voted for the law, now laments that "we would all have been better off" if Congress had dealt with more pressing issues "and then came back to health care."

Barney Frank complained that the Democrats "paid a terrible price for health care." And Virginia's outgoing Sen. Jim Webb said the law would be Obama's "biggest downside" in the election and had cost him "a lot of credibility as a leader."

Meanwhile, stalwart Massachusetts liberal Elizabeth Warren is now calling to repeal a piece of ObamaCare — the 2.3% tax on medical devices — because, she says, it "disproportionately impacts the small companies with the narrowest financial margins."

Warren, by the way, is running for the Senate seat occupied by Republican Scott Brown, whose victory in 2010 was a result of the public's intense opposition...

--snip--

This fear is even more evident when you look at the growing opposition among Democrats to Obama's position on the Keystone XL pipeline.

Obama may have thought he'd cleverly handled the issue by putting it off until next year, and that no one would think to defy his veto threats.

But when Republicans called his bluff with a bill to force a start on construction, 69 Democrats rushed to join them, giving the House bill a veto-proof majority. The Senate bill is just a vote or two away from overcoming a Democratic filibuster...

“I’m not buying it either. But I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but even if owebamacare is repealed, it’s too late for our country and especially our economy...It’s going to take a decade or more for America to dig out of this hole, and that is if there is decent leadership and the media realizes they aren’t as smart as they thought. None of which is likely.”

Also Brad Miller quoted in the article is not running.

So what’s up with that?

Are you of the opinion that electing a republican to POTUS is going to “fix” things?

Yes, along with taking the Senate and increasing our majority in the House. These things are very likely to happen. If Obama and the Dems were confident of their chances, they would be running on their record. They've been running on everything but their record.

Who’s going to be voted out of office? Poor idiots. They are going to lose their jobs. The writing is on the wall.

The notoriously thin-skinned Obama

White, black, thin - doesn't really matter. He sucks. You know it. He knows it. The American people know it.

I hope you are right. But the truth is, we’re getting Romney and that doesn’t bode well for Republican success at the POTUS level. I said the day after Obama won in 08 that Romney would be “next.” I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news as I said, but the fix is in.

The government is a leviathan that will only grow larger, even under the repubs. Government growing larger means the significance and influence of the individual is diminshed.

Romney or obama will continue to grow government, place less emphasis on the individual (socialism) and destroy our God given rights. Be prepared to live inder U.N. and international law, or else. Sorry to be so pessimistic, but even if the pubbies take the senate and hold congress, they will blow it again. Sigh...

Well there is no difference between Soetoro and Mittens. The ‘Rats know Socialism will march on and they can run pretending to be Conservatives. The game is RIGGED.

These Democrats better be worried. Dick Lugar is in a big fight to retain his seat, and Orrin Hatch has to run in a Primary in Utah. We need to clean out the “old guard” of Liberal Republicans, then go after the Democrats.

Oh please. Do NOT get suckered in. It’s just political expediency. Look where they are running.

I look at that pic, of 0bama, nearly as white as the security guy behind him, except for his head, neck and arms below the elbow, and I bow my head in shame. I am even ashamed for those Blacks who thought he was one of their own.

It is very difficult to think of 0bama heading up so many people who are so desperately trying to destroy the fabric, culture and economy of this country. Look at him. Look at his expression and the way he appears to be walking.

And he is proud of what he has done and is doing.

Look at him. Just look at him.

"Anyone who voted for that piece of crap needs to get run out of town-- period, no excuses."

Amen. If it had somehow survived (Obamacare), these same assholes would be crowing about their unwavering support, how compassionate they are, etc., etc., ad nauseum.

God how I loathe politicians.

“White, black, thin - doesn’t really matter.”

So, you’re saying the old media could use the Zimmerman honkification algorithm on him. And he would still suck?

Each of those quoted Dems has already announced he’s not seeking re-election. They probably realize how any effort at re-election would have gone for them an are bowing out somewhat quietly, with some potshots at BHO. Maybe instead of CYA, these are like deathbed confessions?

Thinking back to what I'd heard on this morning's news about cancer research findings. It seems cancer research is finally getting around to the notion that all people are different and their cancers are also different. So there's not one type of breast cancer (women's issue), one type of prostate cancer (men's issue and on and on. Things that have been suspected and in some cases (lung cancers, blood cancers and skin cancers) known for some time, the brilliant politicians of a sinister bent decided that one type of insurance policy would be a boon to all, a great notion that will never work and the type of disorder that is a like cancers in itself.

Is there a simple diagnosis and prognosis leading to a cure for this singular mindset that affects so many in Congress....other than political suicide? Methinks not.
