I use the National Weather Service Enhanced Radar Image Loop site. I see nothing on the horizon, nada; zip.
You need a standby generator powered by propane.
I had to check where that is....you’re not far from Pittsburgh...in fact isn’t that like a sub community on the fringes of?
I’m North of Pittsburgh....in Butler County. We sit right on the Jet stream here, so no matter what the weather says we never know what we’re going to get! I’ve seen it with a foot and more on my car roof...to travel then five miles south and nothing on the ground all the way to Pittsburgh....and vice-versa.
I can go North three miles and likewise difference. It’s crazy weather patterns here under “normal” conditions!
Well looks like you’ll be needing that blower maybe. Who knows
I work in Canandaigua which is Ontario County but I used to live in Wayne County (Sodus Village) I actually MISS Sodus but not because of the weather.
Time to bring in some wood b/c “hubby” has a head cold and that’s all we heat with (no furnace)
The Blue Ridge near me is predicted to have 1-3 inches where the people live (e.g. Blue Mountain, Chester Gap) and more higher in the park along the Skyline Drive. The trees are mostly leafed out at 2k feet and there will be a lot of limbs pruned from trees. Ironically the last big storm this season (and really for the whole winter) was in October although that one caused more damage in NJ and CT than down here.
This is the warning for our area....between Erie and Pittsburgh..Butler County:
WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY EVENING...
* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY WET SNOW.
* ACCUMULATIONS...6 INCHES OR MORE ARE POSSIBLE. SNOWFALL AMOUNTS MAY BE HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON ELEVATION.
* TIMING...RAIN WILL CHANGE TO SNOW AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT AND CONTINUE THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT.
* IMPACTS...THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS AND A HEAVY WET SNOW WILL BRING DOWN TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES.
* WINDS...NORTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.
* TEMPERATURES...IN THE MID 30S.
* VISIBILITIES...MAY BE REDUCED BELOW ONE QUARTER OF A MILE IN THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL MONDAY MORNING.

This is all weird....here in the Kali desert we hit 107 yesterday, and likely will be right around there again today.
Jet stream has to do with and we are off the Erie Lake affects as well.....time will tell as this area very difficult to pin down weather wise.
If you hit 107 I’m sure you’re in air conditioning. I learned when living in Florida.. the difference between the North and the South is only a matter of what season they are homebound...here it’s winter snow storms.....there it’s too hot to be outdoors. Both end up homebound when it gets too extreme.
I live near Greater Pitt Airport. BTW, I notice wild variations in the weather too. There are times I go from Sewickley, it is raining there and when I get up into Moon or Alliquippa/Hopewell, it is snowing. In summer, when I go to Neville Island on a hot day, it seems like it is so much hotter there.
Thanks for the pingy sneaks!
I have been watching this too. Power loss risk will be the big problem. Kids had NO snow days and NO delays this year. Looking for fun times the next couple of days!
Do I get props for NOT prepping (sort of)? Usually I go grocery shopping at Wally World Sunday evenings...I’m just getting a few non perishables (but hitting the deli) things we can use of no microwave or electric stove
And if propane grill becomes hard to get too.
So its kind of non prepping prepping.
We lose power when a a squirrel runs across a power line outside of Jeanette, so I’m expecting the worst :(
Yinz stay safe!
Hi neighbor! As the crow flies, im not that far from you...east end of Irwin zip code. Fun days in store for us :(
your right we do and have discussed it often...will be making a purchase..
Well the Watch has turned into A Warning...
TWC SVR New:
Winter Storm Warning #748400 for Westmoreland, PA until Apr 24 02:00 AM EDT.

Just came back to post more....Drudge has it up as his banner. SNOWPRIL! On his links (National Weather Service and The Weather Channel) shows metro of the Burgh in high snow accumulations, high wind warnings, and dense foliage growth areas. We. Are. Doomed.
I’m beginning to wonder now...how many days til power comes back on.
I’ve learned from watching television that every hot day in summer is evidence of global warming so I’m a little confused. Does this mean the Earth is now cooling?
Oh noes!?! Been nice knowing ya!
I will be walking Monday morning. Oh joy, LOL!
Hopefully it will be light rain and no snow. Not even going to try doing it in less than 45 minutes.
HiiPaMom! We stopped for propane at Lowes this afternoon. Took the canister from the propane grill. It was almost empty anyway. At least we’ll have heat. I have a gas stove so can still cook. And, MOST importantly, we have a Coleman coffeemaker that brews a really decent cup of coffee. We’re good to go!
Oh no! Wear warm, waterproof boots! It won’t be fun trudging home through heavy, wet snow! And wear a hat!
A. Morgan sent me the radar to your area - P6, sounds like you need snowshoes more than anything! Stay safe and warm, yinz’ll.
LOL! I don't want you to lose power but that was just funny as he**!
What is ticking me off is that the change should start around 8 tonight. Weather channel has some stupid lufeguard program on. WPXI is running sports even though it’s supposed to be news.
Internet is not updating.
My weather station is showing low but steady pressure at 6:30pm. I’m thinking the east coast low has moved north. Maybe enough to keep snowfall to...where yunz are to the east. I might not be in bad shape when I start walking at 6am. Later in the day?????
Considering all that has happened to my family in the past few days I’m happy.
Thank You Lord!
LOL!!
Mr S just heard that Pittsburgh now has an advisory while points east (Armstrong, Indiana, Fayette, etc) all have a warning. Glad to have the 4-wheel drive!
QVC is supposed to have a recipe for bacon wrapped asparagus soon. Can’t wait!
Mitch Daniels just on Fox...not great but why don’t I like him? I can’t recall , LOL.
Just found out our kids already planted cukes, tomatoes and more. We’re scrambling to get things covered!
The surface low passed Virginia Beach shortly after 6PM (pressure started rising). It is still moving north about 30 mph (just guessing from the 500 mb map), but should slow down quite a bit as it turns to the NW. I think some of the projected snowfall is from upslope (the usual spots that get lake effect with NW winds) and some is from the trowal which should set up from western NY down into NW PA. My thinking is that the trowal will have the most cold and snow. Upslope is still likely but I'm not sure there will be as much of that.
Local forecast here said snow starting by 8pm. 8:30 now and very light rain, mostly a mist. From our family farm 90 miles north they say similar.
I think it will depend on where the east coast low stalls.
Weather guessers are sayin' it'll stay just warm enough overnight to keep it as rain, though a bunch of it.
Hope y'all to the west/north come thru with power and trees and roofs intact !
such stupid weather and Spring trees are in bloom and we were so hopeful to get garden underway...
off to turn on those electric blankets and hunker down..
nite from here
carole
haircutter.
OMGosh! Mrs p6 drove me to work....I FORGOT TO BRING MY POCKET RADIO!!!! No Q&R on the way home! Rain, Snow, Whatever I bet I make walking home in record time even going the long way around, LOL!
2 am. took our pup out to do her business!! she seemed like ‘what the he!!’ is going on here’ our snow has begun!!!
so guess this doesn’t plan to pass us by..strong winds are predicted for later in the day...ugh
Looks like the surface low is further east than they thought it would go. Not sure of the consequences since it is a monster and there still is upslope to deal with, but the trowal which will create the main cold air funnel will be further east and further north.
You people and your global warming. It never ends.
Looks like both NWS Pitts and NWS State College are dialing back their snow amounts. Pitt is stressing upslope and SC is saying the storm is moving north faster and will be over the Catskills at 18Z (2 pm). Once the storm is north of PA the remaining effects will be upslope and some remanent band like we currently have in NW Virginia. It has a few wet flake mixed in and you guys in PA will have all wet snow, but just a quick inch or two most places as the band moves through (maybe 2-4 if t lingers). Otherwise the effects will be upslope and mostly higher upslope during midday warming.
Temps are in the mid 30's now so it's actually not too bad.
