Alas Babylon

I have been following this thread for a long time. We have lost many people whom I personally enjoyed reading. I hope that you will continue this thread. Elections always boil everyone’s blood. It just goes with the territory.

I humbly ask that you do not come onto this thread with the intent to cause trouble. It doesn't become you, as I honestly respect you and your posting history.

Wow! Years ago I used to post on the Sunday Morning Talk Thread...that was before the "royal we" deemed it a closed thread to FReepers who don't belong to the "club". Perhaps, in the future you should label it a "caucus" thread where no dissenting voices will be heard.

He's more than welcome as it's his house. We'd love to have him post with us and talk about the Sunday shows. Or whatever he wanted. But please don't be dishonest, you know why you pinged him.

You ARE aware, are you not, of Jim's opinion of Romney and his oft-repeated statement regarding a Romney campaign on FR? I bet he would say something that would bring about a request that "I humbly ask that you do not come onto this thread with the intent to cause trouble."

BTW, I notice you spoke of JR without the courtesy of pinging him, while scolding another FReeper FOR pinging him.

I have been reading the Sunday Morning Talk Show thread for years for the usually enlightening conversation, but this particular thread seems to be less about the talk shows and more about peeing to mark territory. A sad show from FReepers for whom I have had a lot of respect.

See my tagline.

You’ve stumped for Romney and impugned those who will not with both regularity and personal diatribe that easily meets the definition of both spammer and troll, subheading, liberal.

“Simply not true of Altura!!! She had other candidates, supported them, and all of them either left or are not winning (Newt). Perhaps you have another definition of “stumped”, but I’m stumped as to why you’d say such an obviously lie.”

I used the definition of stumped found in dictionaries of the English language:
Stumped, re: The Free Online Dictionary
v.intr. 1. To walk heavily or clumsily. 2. To go about making political speeches.

I choose #2 with an option on #1.

Thank you for calling me a liar...when a person is a liberal, it’s evident you simply cannot keep the Alinsky bottled up inside.

If anyone had any doubts.

Right. I know Liberals and Alas B is NOT a Liberal or a liberal. There’s been a significant disturbance in your karma quotient.

WHY CAN'T TEA PARTY TYPES RUN AS A THRID PARTY FOR THE SENATE AND HOUSE AND PLEDGE TO CAUCUS WITH THE RINO PARTY?

Because the majority party gets to appoint committee chairs?

I've been getting the feeling Romney is itching to work his magic on govt. Fire people, close and consolidate departments, repeal Obamacare. It's his specialty. It's why I was initially a supporter.

Thinking aloud....could he be the one with a quasi-liberal identity to convince the dems that we fix it now or we sink. He would be considered a saviour of the country.

Whereas, Dems wouldn't give the time of day, or a chance in hell to a Newt or Santorum plan because they're "wack job conservatives", don't you know.

Firing government workers won't be easy, unless you've got someplace to put 'em to work, which is where the unleashing of energy in this country comes into play. We can do this.

I think we agree for the most part.

For me the election has never been about Romeny vs. Obama or Newt, Santo or any of the other candidates. Its always been about Democracy, the fate of our Republic, future of capitalism vs. the worst regime/administration the country has ever and hopefully will ever see!

I would vote for a beheaded chicken over obamba. Would I rather have had Palin,Marco, Ryan? Of course!

To me this will be the most important election I ever participate in. Not to give 110% against a proven illegal Kenyan hell bent on destroying a country he hates would be craziness.I will do all I can to vote this clown out of office.

Looking forward to The Great One tomorrow.

Mark Levin's new book, Ameritopia is outstanding. I'm only about halfway through (it's NOT for speed-readers), but I highly recommend Levin's book to all on this thread.

Very true, but if you want to know how to effectively combat the left in an charismatic manner that will drive them crazy just listen to any of Marco Rubio’s speeches. This guy has it down. He’s brilliant. He is a true believer in the best potential of the country and is fearless in his defense of said or his offense against those who would tear the country down.

Everytime I think about Rick Perry, I can’t help but wonder what might be if he hadn’t hurt his back, been on painkillers which probably caused his “oops” moment.

IF you must you can review some of my near 50k posts to see what I think and how I evaluate things.

Bottom line, its often necessary to live in the real world.

What is your winning alternative to get rid of zero by not supporting our nominee whomever it is? I all ears. And remember the real world dictates an election by Nov. so what is your alternative? I just can't wait.

So I got a recall on my Jeep Liberty-2005. Seven years ago and now they tell me the whole rear end likely to fall off.

I made appt with dealer this Tuesday, going to drop off and leave overnight. Husband and I will drive up, he in car, natch, me in Jeep....like that.

I tell him that Tuesday is the primary, we should go vote before dropping off Jeep, that we could vote for Newt, kinda flip Mittens the finger.

He says, to my shock and horror, and I’m not making it up...”Nah, I’m gonna vote for Ron Paul.”

So I want to be gracious and all. Better to vote for someone than not vote at all, or so I tell my daughter. “I don’t know if Ron Paul’s on the ballot”.

Which I didn’t know if Ron Paul was on the Delaware primary ballot. I did know, due to timing or some such, that Rick Santorum is on the Delaware ballot so go with me here, husband has some choice for his Republican primary vote.

Ron Paul?

Dear Lord. But so okay. Husband nods and says “he is” so I’m guessing husband checked it out.

Smirk.

There you have it, here in the Fish household. One vote for Newt, one for Ron Paul.

Heh.
