New polls showing Republicans with healthy leads in three of the four state Senate recall fights are sobering for Democrats for a few reasons.
One, they're a reminder that these races are being fought on Republican-leaning turf, as were last year’s Senate recalls.
Two, the Democratic pollster who did the surveys argues that a small portion of voters unhappy with GOP Gov. Scott Walker don’t approve of the recalls, creating an extra hurdle for Democrats to overcome in flipping these Senate seats.
Three, Walker leads in his own recall fight in these particular districts, according to the polls.

These 4 State Senate seats are MUST wins to keep Walker’s agenda moving forward.
This is good news. I so hope that these recalls backfire.
Historically, about 10% of those that don’t like who is being recalled, and would typically vote against them, will vote against the recall because they don’t like recalls.
The state senate districts in Kenosha and Racine Counties were redrawn late last year to create two districts, one heavily Dem, urban district that combined Racine and Kenosha and one heavily GOP district in suburban areas, instead of two marginal urban/suburban districts like before. The Republican senator (Van Waagand?) was redrawn into the heavily GOP suburban district. Is the recall election taking place under the new (heavily GOP) lines or under the old (slightly Dem-leaning) lines?
That is a really good question, and I’m not sure of the answer. The Dems want the recalls to be in the old districts, and the Republicans want to use the new districts. I’m not sure that it has been decided yet. The State AG has just appealed the redistricting plan to the state supreme court. I think we are probably using the old districts.
All the recalls are being run in the old district. Van Wyngard has a significant challenge, but he’s a good man. Find his website and contribute. And if you’re in Wisconsin come to the call centers. We’re going to make a statement.

This is of critical importance, almost as important as keeping Walker.
The 29th seat is vacant cause the Republican resigned (leaving the Senate tied at 16) but there is still a recall election, is there another Republican on the ballot or what? We need to win all of these.
