With Newt...All the way to Tampa! [Vanity]
April 22, 2012 | bigoil

Posted on 04/22/2012 3:32:10 PM PDT by bigoil

President Bush: 'Colin, Do you know what a burn card is?'

Secretary Powell: 'No sir.'

President Bush: [chuckling] 'Someday I gotta teach you to play some Texas Hold 'em.'

--Oliver Stone's 'W.'

By all estimates, Mittwit will fall 70-120 delegates shy of the 1144 needed to secure the Republican nomination for President of the United States on the first ballot in Tampa, Florida.

This fact, coupled with the likely scenario of Mittwit being ten points down to Obama in Ohio, North Carolina, and Colorado the first week in August will sound the death knell of his candidacy.

The Establishment will tell Mittwit [very politely mind you] that they gave him all of the endorsements and financial support they could muster:

'Sorry old sport; tough breaks and all that but you came up just a little bit short. Now be a good fellow and release your delegates so we can 'fix' this thing.'

The 'White Horse' will pull up lame on the back stretch before he is sent to his final destination: The Glue Factory.

Mittwit is the Establishment's 'burn card'.

Then again, I could be wrong and the 'stupid party' could live up to its marquee billing and Mittwit, despite his poor 'endowment', somehow still secures the Republican nomination for President.

At that most unhappy moment, I would counsel the Lamestream Media to stock up on yellow Christmas tree lightbulbs [made in China dontcha know] for their Electoral College map thingy that they like to show off on election night.

They're going to need 'em...lots of 'em.

Because the TEA Party is going to tie a yellow ribbon 'round this old Great Republic:

Sarah Palin for President.

Rand Paul for Vice-President.

All eleven states of the Old Confederacy and every state stacked on top of Texas clear up to the Canadian border will be painted Gadsen Yellow.

And that's just the opening salvo...

But I'm getting ahead of myself; that's for a Latter-Day. For now, it is NEWT...All the way to Tampa!

Come and Take It...Establishment!

I would love to see Mitt denied the nomination but have no illusions that a brokered convention would be run by the RNC and RINOs. There is no way Romney gets 1000 delegates and is still not given the top spot. A “brokered convention” would just end up being some dickering over the 2nd spot and platform language.

I’m IN.

Wife & I both will be in Ft. Worth for the TX GOP Convention. Would love to go to Tampa, but that is a really big long shot.

May 29th is Texas’s day to shine. We will finally have out primary. If we are approved by the RNC for winner-take-all we should open some eyes. (155 delegates)

Wall Streeters don't have New Yawk accents...that's for the outer borough folks.

Wall Streeters (I spent my career on Wall St) are preppies!

You have been listening much to your enemy of Newt state party chairman, I see.

Did you just get your predictions from him, or do you have a crystal ball?

Well, you make a good point. In fact that is what is so terribly wrong with Wall Street. But I digress.

However, have you ever been on an actual exchange? If I recall, I think the token trading-floor scene in the movie did actually feature a real floor trader of the classic ilk. SI or whatever.

BTW, I am not a preppy...just a Southern public school math wiz with a tough but socially malleable shell.

The preppies run Wall St...but they are not very good at it.

Funny that you should ask.

I have been on the floor of the NYSE Exchange only a couple of times.

I was an investment banker...we and the traders were the heart of WS. The exchanges were the bowels.

That said, WS is a soul devouring place if one is not careful. It took me years to recover myself after leaving.

Of course, I still love it!;-)

I think you are correct there. Newt once said it will be easier for him to beat obama than the republic establishment. And, when you think about it, he's probably right...

He definitely needs BIG TIME BACKROOM LEVERAGE going into the convention - and that is a real poser. So far the only thing he has is a grassroots behind him that won't take NO for an answer...

Yes I am glad Newt is hanging in there. The RINOs will run the convention and Romney will be the nominee but that doesn’t mean we give up. Never give up. We fight for conservative members of congress and platform language and getting our issues out there. It is not an all or nothing sprint. This will be a constant marathon struggle for the rest of our lives.

I was a member of the NYBOT, and we would flush investment bankers down the toilet.

Has the SREC done anything more about an emergency meeting to pass a resolution for the change to WTA? I’ve not seen anything more about it.
