Mandeville, LA Its a bill to amend the Firearms Owners Protection Act, and the historical marksmanship group Project Appleseed, this week on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk® Radio, the original nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports.
The Firearm Owners Protection Act, or FOPA, passed in 1986, addressed regulatory reform of the ATF, machine gun ownership, registration, background checks, and interstate transportation of firearms. The last part is the focus of HR 4269, introduced by Representative Morgan Griffith (R-VA). Rep. Griffith seeks to define the types of legal travel, clarify that the act covers both firearms and ammo, and, in the case of prosecution, puts the burden on the state to prove the case, rather than the defendant. More information can be found here: http://www.nraila.org/news-issues/fact-sheets/2012/hr4269firearmstransportation.aspx and here: http://thomas.loc.gov.
Project Appleseeds mission is teaching two things: rifle marksmanship and early American heritage, though the Revolutionary War Veterans Association. Indiana Project Coordinator Dave Goodrich drops by on Sunday to discuss just how this all-volunteer organization operates. For more information, visit http://www.appleseedinfo.org.
Its also the last week to enter to win the Ruger 10/22 TakeDown! Grand Prize includes the brand-new rifle, carrying bag and two BX-25 magazines. Enter at www.guntalk.com/contest.

Hey mylife, you doing OK this evening?
In for just a bit.
Doing fine Dave.
I find myself awaiting this thread as a quiet (well not always THAT quiet) lifeline of sense and sanity.
Was shooting the CZ 82 recently, and it’s still shooting a bit low for. I just installed a #5 (the highest) rear sight, so that should do it for me. Haven’t had it to the range yet.
Hey 50, good to hear from you!!
You are the only guy I have heard report the CZ 82 shooting low.
I hope the sight corrects the issue.
Hey Dave. Any snakes?
My yard is now a grackle-free zone. Those flying turds learned a bitter lesson last year.
The guy on the phone needs to give me all that old 30 carbine ammo if he thinks its junk.
No, still no snakes, but I also have a grackle free zone.
I still have the football bat if I need it though.
Wow! 2” at 10 yards is way off.
I hake grackles, too.
They are flying noisy rats that crap over everything.
The were nesting in my cedar bushes. They would take the crap balls out the nests and deposit them in the bird bath and the little fountain I have my on deck. Disgusting. I killed a bunch last year and knocked the feathers off a bunch more. That got their attention. Dang sewer falcons.
Looks like a lot of people have this issue.
Could be worse; I could be dealing with fixed sights. lol
Grackles have bombed my truck 3 times this spring! GRRRrrrr!!!!
2” low? Just move your target 2” and you’re good to go. /s
Say, a 10/22 takedown might be cool...
We brought in a bunch of trained hawks at work last year.
They made short work of the flying crap factories!
Ruger LCP with Crimson Trace® Laserguard® YES or NO?!!!
Enter the contest.
I would look at the LC9
Mine shot low (cz82) Instead of filing I painted the front sight only half way. Now its almost a nail driver.
Nothing wrong with the LCP but the LC9 is pretty darn small too.
Its a law enforcement gun.
Try left handed. Might be ‘my-right-hand-shoots-lower-than my-left-hand’ syndrome.
Nice to know that I’m not alone. If the #5 sight doesn’t do it, I’ll try your method before I fire up the bench grinder.
See, the LC9 is basically the same size and weight of my G27/26.
A 10 ounce LCP in my back pocket is much more carry-able...when Merryland lets me get a CCW.
The .380 vs 9mm when I have one because a 9mm is much less comfortable is still better than nothing.
Go for it!
Rick Perry approves of the LCP.
Coyotes do not.
Good to see ya 50!
The KelTec PF9 is 12.7 ounces but is practically the same size as a G26/27. But I’m thinking about that one too.
Got interested in these because I want the Kimber Solo CDP. But you can’t get them.
Punchin’ out early.
So long, and thanks for all the thread.
Got out to the range on Friday to zero both new AR’s.
First one has an NFA lower and the second has a PSA lower. Both have 16” Bulldog barrels from JSE Surplus.
I didn’t even need to adjust the first one. It was dead on out of the box with Magpul BUS. The polymer lower worked great. Trigger pull was a little stiff but not bad at all for a 99 buck complete lower.
Second one needed quite a bit of adjust to zero. Also had Magpul BUS and EOtech. Bad part is I forgot my front sight tool, so I’ll go back out tomorrow and finish the backup sights.
Weather was outstanding and both rifles ran great.
Also put 100 rounds through a new XD40 to get it loosened up some. The XD also ran flawless.
The best news is I get to go back out tomorrow instead of going to work!!!
That Kimber sure looks sweet.
The Cz82 only draw back is it’s sight’s. Paint them your way and its a keeper. If you find a nice shoulder holster(leather) let me know.
CDNN has the PF9 for $229
Have a great week!
I called every store in driving distance and they practically laughed at me.
