GOP elite holds off the tea partiers.

The Republican Party establishment has withstood the tea-party revolution.
The tricorne-hat wearing, Gadsden-flag waving insurgents were nowhere near the Republican National Committees annual meeting of state chairman, which wrapped up at a posh resort here Saturday afternoon.
Instead, veteran party leaders who wore business suits even in the 100-degree heat reigned supreme.
The 2012 meeting of the Republican national command shows just how little has actually changed in the Grand Old Party since the tea-party movement helped Republicans capture the U.S. House majority two years ago and announced that they were a powerful force in American politics.
While tea-party activists have won county chairmanships and seats on state central committees, few (if any) activists have clinched slots on the Republican Partys 168-member governing committee.

You’re right!!! Both Rush and Sarah said that Newt is an imperfect vessel but however an imperfect vessel that can help us - conservatives and Tea Party by fighting and standing up to Mitt until we can take this thing to the convention

According to the latest Fox News Poll in Ohio, which is a swing state, 73 percent of registered voters that identify themselves as Tea Party members would vote for Mitt Romney and 66 percent of them have a favorable opinion of him. It’s clear that he has a lot of support from Tea Party members and, since it’s still early, could still attract more when he starts campaigning for the general election.
What do you think of that?

I've heard of Fox News. Weren't they the ones who claimed to be "Fair and Balanced" before the jumped in the tank for Mitt?

The Republican Party establishment has withstood the tea-party revolution. The election hasn't been held yet, and even if Romney wins the nomination, AND the election, there might be even more Tea Party types in the House and Senate come Jan. of 2013. THAT would be the ultimate poke in the eye to the elites.

How very like the American Left to put form over substance.

Clearly the GOPe considers the Tea Party movement not ready for national prime time, and perhaps they are correct. LOL! The corrupt GOPe who has a LIBERAL as their candidate and that candidate lying/trashing the WeThePeople candidate is correct when they say the TP is not ready for prime time??? What the freak would you think the big gov't elite would say!! They aren't correct but no one would expect anything different from them - they would rather forget 2010 and have the truly clueless agree with them.

The GOP didn’t become the RAT party lite overnight & we will not drag it back kicking & screaming from the path of socialism , sodomy & surrender overnight or in just one election cycle !
Keep the faith in your fellow citizens who actually give a shit about the Constitution& keep working & hounding the bastard in Washington D.C. .
We will have to literally grind them down ,yes it will take time but that is what must be done . We are in this for the sake of our children & their children ! It is going to be a long drawn out forced march to overcome the “Old Guard “ of the party but it is the only way .

Thanks for that - I just made it into an email and passed it around.

I AM NO LONGER A republiCON. I will NEVER vote for mitt. These #^$^)#&% cannot win without "US"... and "US" will never vote for mitt. I was right all along... if America survives... the GOP and the dims must not. We need a true Conservative party and we will have one... even if we have to build it on top of the rotting carcass of the republiCON nightmare. FU gop/e and any stupid idiot that supports you. VOTE for the Conservatives in the gop... shun the leftist republiCONS... they are not moderates... they are GOD-less creatures of the left.

I think that faux news is a subsidiary of the gop/e and they will manufacture and lie to promote the ideology of rupert murdoch and roger ailes (romney)... and their past is all the proof a thinking person needs to arrive at this conclusion.

It’s not only the Fox News Poll, but others have Romney gaining support from the Tea Party, some of them in the upper 60-70 percent range. If you don’t want to believe the polls you would still have to admit that Tea Party members ARE supporting and voting for Romney. They have a high interest in the election and are not staying home. And a lot of them are not voting for Newt or else he would be in the lead.

The TEA Party was never a republican movement nor was it soley a Conservative movement. Now when you can produce some real data from the South that shows that Conservatives are backing romney... then I will pay attention and start calling my brethren out for their mistake.

unfortunately I think some tea party members may lack some principles, after all some wanted a drastic reduction in fed gov but you better not touch medicare/ss. And I am thinking they are more of the anyone but Obama, they are scared of another term and actually think they bring romney around kicking and scream..well they tried that with Boehner and the senate its not working out too good.

There is time it will not be pleasant doing the hard work but the alternative you advocate leads to nothing but ruin . The GOP elites got their by being able to work within the party.
Doing the destroy them now leads to bad blood in the party & that leads to defeat at the polls. Work needs to be done to convince the people that are represented by the party elitists that they are not being served they will do what must be done dubious attempts at black bag operations /smears will only hurt the effort.
To: 09Patriot
The gop/e will NEVER change direction of this Republic's slam hard to port... they will just let out the sails a bit and slow down the decades long march to communism.
