Could Newt pull off a Delaware upset?
Politico ^ | 4-23-12 | Ginger Gibson

Newt Gingrich has got a new hope: the tiny but dangerous state of Delaware. With Mitt Romney and the national press corps now focused on the general election, Gingrich is hoping to become the Christine O’Donnell of the 2012 race — rallying the state’s conservatives to pull off an upset victory over the more moderate candidate who never saw it coming.

That would be excellent. Hope he pulls it off and we find a way to toss Mitt on his Butt.

The article says that Newt is broke..didn’t Adelson give him another 5 million? also, if Newt wins Delaware..he only needs ONE more state to have an impact at the convention.
Romney still needs almost 500 delegates to secure the nomination and he has a long way to go. With his inane statement on student loans today..he may sink himself and go down even further in favorability among voters.

GO NEWT! WE WANT MORE DEBATES!

If he wins Delaware, that will be his 3rd state!!!!

He would still be nearly 1000 delegates away from the GOP nomination.

Then there is NY, CT, NJ, CA, RI. He would have to get 95% of the delegates in those states, plus win the remaining states just to even get close to the nomination.

Right. Newt needs to win 5 states..he has won 2 to have an impact on policy at the convention. It is a sad day for this nation if such a great conservative man is ignored by the very party he worked so hard for and did more than any candidate or republican in DC for the conservative cause. (minus Reagan) who is deceased.

As for Romney! "“There are only two people in world history who have signed laws containing an individual mandate,” said Carlson, according to The Washington Examiner. “One’s the president, the other’s running against him. So somehow, out of 315 million Americans, the Republican Party managed to find the one guy who couldn’t run on Obamacare.” Read more: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0412/75387_Page2.html#ixzz1svRKgbNP

I hear you. I keep praying for him. I’ve sent him money. If I had big money, Newt would be funded better than Romney’s Super damn PACS.

I keep remembering that “a lot of people try to use God, but God uses GOOD people”.

I’m dog tired tonight. Keep praying. Something’s gotta give. The GOP voters can all be blind, deaf and dumb. The media sure has a lot the idiot GOP voters brain washed into thinking Romney can beat the Marxist. Just wow.

It would be his first win east of the Mason-Dixon line (and north of it).

(The Mason-Dixon line forms the Maryland border with Delaware and Pennsylvania--so it runs along the western state line of Delaware.)

Gingrich would have to win almost all the remaining delegates to come to the convention in first place. He could possibly stop Romney from coming there with the magic number of delegates, but if the convention did not pick Romney my guess is they would go for someone other than Gingrich instead.

Newt Gingrich winning Delaware would be trivial. Even if he wins the state, the delegates will be free to vote however they choose if he’s not on the ballot at the convention. A few of them may want to start a floor fight, but most will want to see the nominee chosen on the first ballot. He’s a good guy, and I’d be happy to see him win one. He’s not going to be the nominee, and he’s not going to win enough delegates to force a floor fight at the convention.

Although I prefer Newt, I’m fine with anyone but Romney.
