Mitt Romney Starts Betraying The Conservatives He Coddled During The Primaries
Businss Insider ^ | April 23, 2012 | Michael Brendan Doughterty

It was inevitable. Mitt Romney is going to sell-out conservatives in his party in order to win the general. And if he wins, he'll sell them out again in order to be re-elected.*

Zeke Miller and McKay Coppins reporting for Buzzfeed have found the first issue on which Romney is trying to put some distance between himself and the conservative wing of his party.

Allahpundit, one of the most perceptive conservative bloggers, also detects the hint of conflict between the GOP candidate and the GOP Congress.

Mitt Romney told reporters today that he supports efforts to extend low interest rates for college loans — appearing to align himself with a Democrat-sponsored bill and against Congressional Republicans.

"I fully support the effort to extend the low interest rate on student loans,” Romney said at a joint news conference with Florida Senator Marco Rubio. “There was some concern that that would expire halfway through the year, and I support extending the temporary relief on interest rates for students as a result of student loans, obviously, in part because of the extraordinarily poor conditions in the job market.”

It's a small issue, but it is like the wind shifting just before the storm comes.

Romney's top advisor already described how in the general election you can just shake the "Etch-a-Sketch" and start over.

Here are some issues to watch for Romney betrayal on: spending cuts (particularly entitlement spending), his opposition to the "contraception mandate" on religious employers, his promise to de-fund Planned Parenthood, his determination to label China a currency-manipulator, his stark opposition to amnesty for illegal immigrants.

There will be many others as well.

Obama's student loan plan is a gift to some of his most rabid supporters -- college faculty and administrators.

By pandering to that same audience, Romney expects that he will be able to win some votes among this crowd.

The sad truth is that it won't gain him a single vote, That he does not appear to realize this suggests that he is a remarkably naive politician.

I know you don't like Romney, but I would prefer our Soldiers and Marines not answer to a Kenyan communist anymore.

By allowing Obama another 4 years in office, you are essentially damning our military and National Security, say nothing of our friends in Israel and Poland.

Any of the pro-Mittens crowd want to comment? Still think that Mittens is the people's choice to win against Obama? What's the difference between Dr. Evil (Obama) and Mini Me (Romney)? I'm waiting for pro-Mittens supporters to answer how this makes Mittens “more electable” than Obama?

There you go, confusing the issue with facts. Don’t you know you’re supposed to be OUTRAGED?

How is this particular issue anti-conservative? My daughter will probably have to take out a student loan and I can get a mortgage at a lower rate. I don't want her rate going up! I don't want it artificially kept down, but still...

It's the schools that have to be reigned in with their outrageous tuition prices! They know the gov’t will up the amount of aid if they increase tuition, so government can't just willy-nilly keep subsidizing their huge increases. Still, it shouldn't effect rates.

I believe I’d rather see obama stay in and go ahead and push us off a cliff. Maybe then enough of us will stand up and attempt to start over. I say that because it’s too far gone to simply fix.

And I don’t believe Romney can win. I don’t believe he or the elites want him to win. boner is putting out the word that the dems are going to take back the house. Obviously that’s what boner wants. They don’t have what it takes to lead us out of the mess they got us into because they weren’t thinking of a solution while they were creating the problem.

So if we count on boner and mitchy and mittie to do the fixin’ for us, before too long we’ll be completely destroyed.

The Backstabbing Bishop of Soros and Kolob
HAS ALWAYS screwed the GOP.

FLASHBACK:

The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++4 to 10 pts
in some polls, days prior to Election 2008.
So rather than helping the GOP, Romney and
TeamROMNEY and the RNME (Republican National Media Establishment)
decided …to attack Gov. Palin to throw Election2008.

Romney, and the Van der Sloot RNME RINOs for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

I don’t think any of them specifically are for Gingrich. I know Ed Boyd personally. he’s a local Tea Party leader and he was for Santorum, I think he’s uncommitted now.

Obama/Romney two different sides of the same coin as far as I can see. One just moves faster than the other but both have the same goals.

My states primary hasn’t occurred yet so I am voting for Newt. I would have voted cheerfully for Palin but she decided (and probably wisely) not to run.

My crystal ball has been pretty cloudy lately but even I can see that the America I grew up in is almost gone and I want her back. Romney and Obama don’t want what I want, they seem to want this country to be a feudalistic/plantation nation with then at the top of the social/economic structure and their sycophants doing the day to day work of running it for them while they enjoy the fruits of others labors.

The eventual problem that they are going to run into is passive/aggressive resistance once their promises of “bread and circuses” evaporate. How that will happen is a good guess, for me I’m betting on a combination of the producer’s going Galt and those firmly on the plantation burning and rioting when they don’t get what they think they “deserve”.

But no matter how it finally resolves itself over the next 20 to 50 years the America I knew as a boy and young man will be forever changed and I doubt it will be for the better.

Watch how fast people ditch state universities. I predict a rise in enrollment at technical colleges as well as internship programs for those who see no point in a college degree.

As the tuition rises, the quality of education is falling!

Most of my professors hadn’t been out in the “real world” since the 80s so my education was extremely outdated. They hand you a piece of paper and say “good luck out there! oh... and donate MORE money to our school because you are a proud alumni!”

I am truly in a battle with myself here, and I don’t know what to do. I’m sure there are millions of us that know the only action we can take, is to vote for this POS Romney. I can’t stand the sight of the man, let alone agree with anything he says, or doesn’t say. In my mind, there is nothing worse than a collaborator. The enemy can be easily identified, and at least proclaims himself to be the enemy. The collaborator is beneath the enemy is ways that have inspired great quotes throughout history. So, what do we do here in this election? I can only vote, or not vote. If I vote, I vote for the collaborator, instead of the enemy. I can only look down the road, into the future and see the burnt out remains of what used to be America, and know at least I tried to stop Obama with a single vote. If I sit this one out, I will never live it down in my conscience. So, a vote for Romney is likely. We are all being played like fiddles here, no matter what we do. In my honest opinion, the only guy that I would gladly vote for is Newt. But the guy has no chance because of the rigged game. Anyway, thank God for all my friends here on freerepublic. We can at least take comfort in knowing that we are not alone.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, our only antidote against a Romney Presidency or a second Urkel Presidency is to get as many Tea Partiers as possible elected to Congress.

Keep that in mind the next time you get a call from The RNC, The College Republicans or any other Republican fundraising arm.

Save your money for specific Tea Partiers you know about.

I have no problem with another Obama presidency...

...if it means conservatives will finally rise with one goal, to cut away at every liberal power of authority, to outright ignore or disobey his policies, to turn the military from obeying his unjust orders, to turn law enforcement into rebellion against enforcing uncondtitutional laws, even to creating a second national government seat in historic Philadelphia, as a real or symbolic center of our national will and leadership, until Washington become a neutered entity, and millions of Americans stand in its streets to see this clear and insidious threat to our country, named either as a traitor or a foreign agent, and led away in chains.

We are not the men our founding fathers were, we are not fit to stand on the banks of the Delaware in the snow and cross to the other side. Conservatives are discovering that although we are not those men of the American Revolution, one way or another, we better start faking it.

Libetalism is not a political system, a disease, or a criminal enterprise. It is an army, with propaganda units, combat units, guards on the watchtowers, political indoctrinators re-educating your children, funded by money they require of you by lethal force, yes sir, how much sir, sorry I don’t have any more, sir, please don’t shoot my dog.

The nation has been lost. We were napping and accomodating every liberal guilt trip that made Americans give up one liberty after another, always for some noble reason, and feeling guilty because we had been blessed so much, bit by bit we gave away what men better than us gave their all for, and slept while the socialist anaconda wound it’s coils.

Now we are a divided camp...while we argue over whether the whiter Kommissar will require more or less of our freedoms, blood and treasure than the swarthy Kommissar, the walls and gates of the American Gulag are rising.

We are not the patriots our forefathers were. But will we choose to be? Or will it all seem much better after a four-year nap?

I live on a cruising sailboat, and frankly am making preparations for a lengthy, perhaps permanent departure from this country. Several Freepers have likened that decision as running from a fight, or treason. My reply is, if a George Washington calls, I will fall into ranks. The political process has been subverted and our leaders suborned. The historical precedent, and the Jeffersonian unction, leads a candid mind that treasures Liberty to assess we are leaving the province of politics and entering the domain of generals, if our course is to reclaim our Constitution.

Soapbox aside...I’m a halfwit n00b and before someone else says it, I don’t know sh1t. But I damn well know what direction liberty lies, and that our only options are forward or back.

If Romney is president, I pray the mantle of leadership changes his nature and that God guides him and gives him wisdom.

Identical word for word to what I said about Obama in 2008.
