Today, the National Journal reported that a senior State Department official has announced, “The war on terror is over.”
“Now that we have killed most of al Qaida,” the source said, “now that people have come to see legitimate means of expression, people who once might have gone into al Qaida see an opportunity for a legitimate Islamism.”
The article itself describes the Obama administration’s new vision of foreign policy, which admits no enemies. Everyone, in this view, is a friend. Islamism, says the Obama administration, is just fine, so long as it does not openly support terrorism.
This, of course, is utter foolishness. Islamism is a religious ideological movement that brooks no real alternatives – so while the State Department proclaims “a legitimate Islamism,” it fails to acknowledge that Islamism, “legitimate” or not, is deeply intolerant of any other modes of expression. Not only that, but Islamism works hand-in-glove with terror groups around the world. Simply because a regime does not openly house al Qaida does not mean that the regime doesn’t support al Qaida; just because a regime pretends at democracy doesn’t mean that it has real democratic values.
Obama has created the brave new Middle East – a Middle East that assumes that every human heart has the desire to vote, but not to be truly free; a Middle East that oppresses women and gays and minorities, but pretends at liberalism; a Middle East that despises America but hides that hate behind a façade of multiculturalism, even as it disposes of its internal dissenters.

BTW: Anyone notice that this puke has shown more support for 911 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed than he has for George Zimmerman? Since he took office, him and Holder were hellbent on trying Khalid in a US court with full Constitutional rights. But Zimmermans case he takes sides. “Trayvon Martin could have been my son”..No statement to stop the death threats against Zimmerman, no statements saying Zimmerman should get a fair trial. No, only animals responsible for killing 3000 civilians should get a fair trial.
The message is that fearless leader has put down the nasty Muslims, we no longer have anything to fear because of the heroic actions our fearless leader took to stop the nasty ol’ Muslims, and he should therefore be reelected.

Great, so when is Obama going to have the victory ticker tape down Wall Street?

I think in their minds the war on terror ended when they just pasted their new legislation curtailing our right to protest near the Secret Service.
Now I guess we have about the same protection for political speech as the people in China.
It is amazing how the progressive filth (both parties) in this country has been able to erode even the first amendment which was MAINLY in place to protect political speech. No longer, yet we remain silent.
I also see Pelosi had no compunction telling us the administration will just ignore the USSC should they rule against our Kenyan led administration on the Arizona immigration issue.
OK, limit political free speech, ignore the USSC, use executive orders to bypass congress, can anyone tell us we are not living in a dictatorship?
IMO, the Treasury department, via the SS, is committing treason by protecting this administration.
Under the current rules, just who can possibly reign in this administration? Given they don’t even want to allow the states to required a valid ID to vote, I for one have ZERO faith in the ballot box.
This country is toast with very few willing to follow the brilliance of the Founders.

What Obama et al say or do is irrelevant to the average Islamic family. He has no influence that is meaningful. They are being swept up in a tide of unprecedented growth and relative prosperity and change.
The historical process of sorting through the change is well underway and the old order is losing control. The new order is not yet defined and certainly not in place.
To this historical process, America is of little import and The Messiah is totally irelevant
obama has accomplished two major goals: One, he’s bought the muslim vote and two, he has just freed up the the Dept. of Homeland Security to go after Tea Partiers and conservatives. In other words, us here at FR.
Actually it is quite the clever lie. You see, most Americans are not like FReepers or other informed individuals. They believe things like this that the government says. So, when the bombs or bomb-threats etc. start happening in earnest here...why it won't be that pesky al-queda doing these things. It will be that newly defined domestic terrorist to blame.
They are setting in motion their propaganda hand for the summer. The message here is al-queda is not our biggest threat/fear...that my FRiend is going to be whoever they define as the 'domestic terrorist.' And that won't be any of the groups WE would think...it will be those who will be Constitutional Patriots.

Actually, Obama is correct — from his standpoint. He’s a Muslim. The Muslims are winning. For Muslims, the war is over, or is almost over.
