LIMA, Peru -- A Peruvian court is reported to have approved the extradition of convicted killer Joran van der Sloot to the US, where he faces charges connected to the suspected murder of American teen Natalee Holloway.
Dutchman van der Sloot's extradition from Peru -- where he is serving 28 years for murdering business student Stephany Flores -- was approved Monday, Radio Netherlands Worldwide and United Press International reported, citing officials and Peruvian media.

I’d rather he stay in prison in Peru and extradite him once his 28 years are up. It’s much nastier than what we’d do to him up here.
Why would this be sought as the punishment factor would be likely be heavier in Peru?
Dumb to import him for Holloway. Whose bright idea was that?? Let him rot in Peru.
that too, is my question - I want him to stay in Peru forever.
Even if we had jurisdiction, can we convict him of anything? Aruba couldn’t, and they obviously have more evidence than we do.
Dear God Almighty. Me too.
Keep him in their prison.
A trial in the US is slated for 2015, with van der Sloot facing 25 years in prison if convicted.”””
Who is the nitwit in charge of our criminal justice system?
Van Der Sloot, the psychopath, is being given a 3 year vacation in the US penal system while he awaits trial. And yes compared to the Peruvian prisons, being in a US prison would be a vacation.
WOW ! He just got his “get out of jail free” card
I am wondering whether he made some sort of deal:
‘I’ll confess, if you move me to a US prison.’
Why else would the US spend time and money on a trial for someone already serving 28 years in another country?
Not exactly free.
How much will this cost the US taxpayers? WE will be footing his legal defense, his travel and his expenses.
IF this is true, my guess it would be pursuant to Natalies’s family’s pursuit of Joran.
Like the energizer bunny they never give up.
I know they think the Aruba fix was in and they never reconciled themselves to that.
The jurisdiction would need to be where Natalie lived when she disappeared, right?
I’m with you and all who think it’s best that he serves 28 years in Peru for a murder he clearly did, no doubt about it.
That doesn’t content the Holloway’s, though, because nobody was held accountable for their daughter’s fate.
I think justice would be better served on this creep in a Peruvian jail.
Extradition is idiocy at this point.
Let him rot in Peru. We all know he killed Natalie Holloway and that he’s a sociopath.
What we DONT know is who helped him. If he makes a deal to rat out everybody then even Aruban officials could face time.
“How does the US have jurisdiction?”
They don’t. Except perhaps the extortion charge. But that’s peanuts. I call BS on this report of extradition to the U.S. from Peru.
Aruban officials “are going to face time” where?
Are we going to extradite them too?
