It Romney gets the nod (which appears virtually certain) I will hold my nose and vote for him. I won’t like it but it beats Obama. Staying home would be the same as voting for Obama.
Romney is a democrat who makes John McCain look like a rock ribbed conservative.
You might also consider voting against O without voting for Willard, if that is the best choice the two-party system gives us.
My son convinced me that a vote for, say, the Constitution Party candidate will be recorded as a vote against both unacceptable party candidates and that is the statement I wish to make and for the elites to know.
About about as much chance of that as you taking over the Communist Party of China.
And my grandson will still have to serve under Barack Obama.

I disagree. But you do whatever you feel is proper and I will do whatever I feel is right.
Anybody who claims to both support Romney and be a representative of the tea party movement is either confused or lying about one or the other.

Yep.
I took that as being a nice way of saying hold his feet to the fire. I thought he was saying, hey, the tea party and Mitt are not close friends, we are going to be open to being friendly if he wants, but we will be always in his facing forcing him right.
If this guy is a flake or a fraud then ok, I reject the message. It may be just his own personal opinion. I don’t like any name that contains the words “Patrick” and “Leahy” though.
Why?
The Tea Party originally started out as an anti-tax movements of protestors who were “Taxed Enough Already”. That was its original intention, anyway.
They’re not speaking for me.
I will never back Romney.
I know you are proud of your grandson. He is making his own career choices and not having to serve against his wishes.
Your insinuations have affected me and have strongly influenced my determination to double-down on resisting the take-the-Republican-or-it’s-your-fault-if-O-is-relected kind of thinking you and, amazingly, some others on FR employ.

Bachmann was as conservative and Tea Party as we could get. And....she put herself out there and ran for President.
Now you get Mitt or Obama.
I’d take Bachmann any day.
