John Edwards apparently didn't think too highly of his mistress.
According to testimony Tuesday from Edwards' former top confidante, the ex-senator didn't give himself great odds when he doubted that he was the father of Rielle Hunter's unborn child.
"He said that she was a crazy slut, and it was a one-in-three chance that it was his child," Young testified.
Whether or not those were the odds, Edwards made a bad bet. After denying for months that he was the father, even after he copped to the affair, Edwards has acknowledged paternity for their daughter who is now 4 years old.

Andrew is the aide testifying. He’s the one who carried the payments to Rielle and who claimed he was the father at one point. He also had Rielle move in with him and his wife. This did not go well.
Guess I wasn’t following the Edwards soap opera closely enough.

And then, after Elizabeth died, Rielle demanded that her daughter have a part in the other daughter’s wedding that Elizabeth had planned before her death. From what I've read about the guy, he struck me as more of an Edwards groupie than a political ideologue. He put up with a lot more than I believe a typical party operative would have. And the way he described Edwards, and how much he believed in him, bordered on teenage girl/boy band adoration.

Now in this particular instance - I would say that Edwards is infinitely worse than any of his staffers, and anything they may have done. To think that some advocated 8 years ago that he should be 1 heartbeat away from the Presidency is just chilling.

You didn’t miss much. (Saw it on Broadway with one of my sisters as a favor to her.) Had I known the story line, I would have begged off.
I was truly surprised to read the program notes at this musical, as I was sure that someone else had just pieced together a story around ABBA hits. But, no, the lazy ABBA members just recycled their old “hits”; there was very little new material.
So, although this show offends sufficiently with its obnoxious plot line, it also is an insult artistically.
This sister just loves Broadway, and I love her dearly, but, after that one, I said I would not set foot in NYC again. (We have since gone to the Hippodrome in Baltimore, though. I live in MD, and she lives in PA.)
Note to those considering a political career: A woman who is a crazy slut may not be the best romantic partner to select when cheating on your wife. Alternatively: If the odds are one in three that you will be the father if a girl gets pregnant, you ought to avoid her like an STD plague and make those odds zero in three.

Appropriate to absolutely nothing, but you reminded me of other similar moments, I was working at CBS the night a director’s voice yelling, “what the F**K is going on downstairs?” was aired to the entire eastern time zone. There was also the night the Sonny and Cher Show ended three minutes early and the intercom audio from one of the videotape techs saying, “I’ve got the F**King finale cued up again” got on the air. Also did a bunch of kids shows where the hosts were usually drunk, lots of ribald stuff there. So the rumored story may be a myth, but it’s plenty plausable.
