Rep. Stephen Ortego (D-Carencro) with some truly strange questioning of a bill filed by Rep. Nick Lorusso (R-New Orleans) to offer in-state tuition to military veterans.

Illegal aliens can vote, get welfare and citizenship but military personnel’s votes are lost, pensions are cut and in-state tutition is challenged.
The Marxists are really, really insane.
I fear there may be a conflict soon.
Unfortunately, he was just elected to his first term last November, and in LA, the legislative terms are for 4 years (so he’s not up until late 2015). He narrowly beat a GOP opponent in a runoff, one whom placed first in the initial election.
Guess Sen Ortega isn’t aware that active duty military personnel have two education benefits programs and most veterans have some version of the GI Bill. Give them in-state tuition, and watch enrollments soar at Louisiana colleges.and universities. Deny them the in-state rate, and watch their continued migration to the on-line schools. BTW, I work in higher ed, and 75 percent of military personnel enrolled in higher ed classes last year took them on-line.
Carencro is a Democrat enclave near Lafayette, a mostly Republican city.
Ortego thinks veterans are a risk and liability because of mental illness.
He doesn’t think that encouraging veterans to move to LA is a good idea.
This guy, Ortego, needs serious help. He is NUTS.
