Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is hinging his troubled and indebted campaign on a win in Delaware tonight, telling reporters following him in North Carolina that he will have something to say this evening once we see some results from today.
Gingrich hit the presumptive nominee, Mitt Romney, for giving a speech titled, A Better America Begins Tonight, which a senior Romney adviser said will show Romney in a new light. The senior adviser added that the general election campaign has begun.
I think its a very substantial mistake for Gov. Romney to be pretending these primaries arent occurring and for him to be having, quote, a general election speech tonight in New Hampshire, Gingrich said. Hes the frontrunner but hes not the nominee and I think its a little insulting to the people of these states.
Gingrich said the people in future primary states deserve some respect.
I think its a little bit presumptuous. Theres a big difference between being the frontrunner and being inevitable and I think he is mistaking the two, Gingrich said.
Gingrich would not take any questions at his campaign stop in Charlotte, but said he would answer the looming questions about the state of his campaign at his election rally...

I don't think he drops out- I think he's reassessing a narrative by which to go forward. Anyway, I hope he hangs on. Each day that he's in the race- he makes their lives miserable-- and that's good enough for me.
But, whatever he does, I'm in, til the Speaker says he's out.
Romney, the GOP Backstabber and FOS (Friend of Soros),
is not a candidate of ANY CONSERVATIVE ON EARTH.
I too hope Newt hangs in there and hangs on.
Sorry, Newt’s having a bad night, behind in Delaware by eighteen points. The other four states are Romney wipeouts!!! Folks, reality has set in!!! Gingrich is going nowhere. Gingrich try to keep your dignity, and hang it up!!! Santorum was smart to back out when he did. The man, Rick Santorum has done very well and...will live to fight another day and go for the big prize again. He will mend the fences with Romney and go on to bigger and better things.
The Newt act is painful to watch. It’s like the baseball or football player that stays in the game too long and fails time after time. So....Freepers....it’s either vote for Romney, vote for Obama or sit on your hands. You realize, however the latter two choices doom America as you know it!!! Have fun!!! Me....Anybody But Obama.
I thought the kitties had gotten ahold of the Triple Exclamation Screecher.....my mistake.
Mitt just can't help believing he is the mormon who will save the constitution and begin the process that will end in the whole world being controlled by the mormon church.
This arrogance is bone deep with him.
Cat food for thought, Gingrich has been slaughtered in Delaware by a 32% loss to Romney. End of story. Now.....please no rants about Obama, the Hitler of the next four years. You did it!!!
“You realize, however the latter two choices doom America as you know it!!!”
If we are down to morally diseased vermin like Romney and his cultists, and Obama and his cultists, America as I know it is already dead. Dead as the Weimar Republic.
I was reading again about Steve Schmidt receiving the gift of an expensive antique chair from Romney, as a sign that Romney wanted a "seat at the table" in the 2008 race.
What an affected, pretentious, pompous, puffed-up jerk.
It won't last long, once the Obama machine gears up.
Partayin' goin' down at the White House tonight
Obama laughin' his butt off.

Rush mentioned that he [Rush] liked the speech. Does anyone have a link to the video or a transcript?
