Former Vice President Al Gore will be in town Friday as the keynote speaker at the inauguration of Hampshire College President Jonathan Lash.
Gore, who served as vice president under President Clinton for two-terms, ran unsuccessfully for president in 2000.
In 2007, Gore won the Nobel Prize with the U.N Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. An Inconvenient Truth, a film about his campaign to educate people about global warming, won two Oscars in 2006. In 2005, he co-founded Current TV.
Lash has been serving at the college's sixth president since July.
The theme of the inaugural is Educating for Change: Critical Thinking in a Critical Time.
Gary Hirshberg, class of 1972 and co-founder and of the New Hampshire based Stoneyfield Farm will introduce Gore.

Amherst had better prepare for a big snowstorm...
I guess Cindy Sheehan was already booked.
You must have to be an idiot to be a Democrat, They have so many of them. Cynthia Mckinney is running for office against the idiot that thinks Guam might tip over if too many Marines are stationed there. GOD HELP US.
Of all things that I associate with Hampshire College, critical thinking is not even on the list.
Rather, the college is known as a bastion of ignorant and intolerant leftists, for whom critical thinking is anathema.
Maybe they have redefined the term to mean something that is more compatible with the leftist mindset.
Was Carrot Top busy that night?
The Crazed Sex Poodle emerges. Wonder if his massage episode will make it into his bio or speech.
Hampshire College is nothing more than a nicely furnished commune where the idiot children of the wealthy can buy a BA in whatever they want.
I hear you can get good dope there, though.
