Washington (CNN) - Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney are likely to meet in early May to discuss a Santorum endorsement, his role as a Romney surrogate and conservative policy issues, CNN has learned.

John Brabender, a senior strategist for the Santorum campaign, told CNN that Santorum's goal is to have a policy-oriented session in which he tries to find a "comfort level" about the role "social conservatives, tea party activists and blue collar Republicans will play in the campaign and in the Romney administration." Even so, he said, "we are not walking in there with a litmus test. This is meant to be a candid conversation."

Oh as if this surprises anyone! Smooth rollin Rick...trying to "look" significant as usual. Just playing his usual GOP roll they give him to play. It's all good for Ricky now...the heats off and he comes out smelling like a new born baby.

The GOP makes me sick! and Santorum's one of them of course...and known as this to the informed.

If Romney is the nominee, they'll all do it, including Sarah Palin, Rick Perry (Lord help me), Mark Levin, etc.

And the band plays on, does it not? Trouble is they all get Paid when all is said and done, and it comes out of our pockets for the most part.

Am so glad I determined this is my last year doing this crap. I won't be supporting any from here on in. They'll all be taking our money and riding high regardless. It's really a no win battle from her on in.

No....I won't be supporting Newt's support of Romney. He has already said he wouldn't 'serve' with Romney when he suggested such. But I expected him to get behind Romney in the end...that's what politicians do.

But I do not give Santorum sway at all...the guy was GOP?Romney player from the get go and still is. His deception is equal to Romney's.

I'm not..and won't support either Romney nor Obama or their agendas....they all got it this far and they can take it now without me. I'll not sign on for the road they'll be taking this nation.....my conscious will not allow for that.

Fools will though...

Why do you turn on Santorum, mock him? He ran out of money.
That’s it.

Romney will never run out of money.

How can God bless this country if it’s President doesn’t believe in Him?

Baloney, Santorum threw in the towel because he wasn't about to take another defeat in PA. which would hurt his career choices with Romney and his administration..or any other choice in his political career path...that is how he plays.

Santorum was the GOP diversion away from Gingrich...even the media said had it not been for them promoting and lifting up Santorum he'd never have gone further...the idea was to keep Newt down at all costs.

Further Santorum held his delegates waiting til Newt would look to be out of the picture so he could offer Romney his delegates without looking as guilty as he is for playing for the GOP. HE could have easily given those delegates to Newt, the fact he didn't further revealed his playing for the GOP

My husband is right there with you. He's so disgusted that he's done. This was all fixed and decided back in 2008.

Yep, Romney backed off from the race, with the Promise he'd be "next in line", to give it to McCain.. who in turn handed it to Obama.

In this Primary Paul covered Romney's flank for a long time in every state...then when Newt surged the GOP, along with the Romney media, pushed Santorum forward to divert the social conservatives who generally are easily led.

Santorum then played his GOP role very well in helping them to squash Newts surge at all costs. Until PA. where Santorum would not carry another loss on his record for Pa...that and with Promise he'd serve with the Romney administration, and so with the Newt media blackout he could bow out gracefully and protect his political career.

His refusal to release his delegates to Newt spoke volumes...obvious waiting til Newt appeared all but out of the race he could then appear to be up for negotiating with Romney, though that fix was in long ago, and release his delegates to secure Romneys election.

Sadly many conservatives once again took the bait of Santorum and had no understanding of the game-board.

True to form Santorum has secured his role for playing his GOP role exatly as they hoped ...and is his history in congress when they need him for his baffonery.

Wow! I never really looked at it that way but your right....when you follow his career path and how he got to the next level. Always riding on someone else wave.

I see, you are a Newt supporter. I hope not Romney.

You can only paint Santorum in a negative light, all your comments. What is your bias? Santorum was being vilified in every state by Romney and his money and so it went in Pennsylvania.

It played out, Santorum fought the “good” fight for months against Romney and his negativism. Santorum ran out of money to carry on just like Newt, who is bowing out, no more funds.

How does a “good” come from a primary campaign run as Romney
ran his campaign?

It shows Mitt’s character and virtue, yes?

No hard feelings, God bless you caww,
