Romney Wins DE
(Excerpt) Read more at msnbc.msn.com ...
Giddy?
Well time to tune out for the night before I have a stroke. Geez Delaware!! What the heck????
I voted for Newt in NY today.
Hum? Well, when the primary finally gets to California, I’ll vote Gingrich if he is still in otherwise no one.
In November, it will be the first presidential race where I am not voting for president, all the other offices for sure.
I will no loner vote for a liberal just because they have an R by their name.
I personally think it’s pretty good, too — with NO money, all the debt, fighting the money machine, a press who ignores him ...
Well, well well. Lil’ Bishop Willard broke 50%. What a dynamo.
We’ll see if he can win the Democrat primary in November.
The truth hurts, but....the truth is always the truth. The reality of the world has set in tonight. If Gingrich has an ounce of dignity and loyalty left in him, he will gracefully withdraw this evening. The Republican primary voters have spoken quite clearly. Now.....the real work begins, the political wipeout of failed, America hating POTUS, Barack Hussein Obama and the entire Democrat Party. Anybody But Obama!!!
Why should Newt drop out now? I mean he DID get 10% of the vote in Pennsylvania, which is only a few points less than Ron Paul.
That was a ROUT.
Gingrich definitely needs to be ‘reassessing’ his campaign.
Sadly, it is uphill for the Republicans to defeat Obama. It can be done. I just hope chameleon Romney is up to the task.
We MUST get the current disaster out of the White House!
Wouldn't matter anyway since he has no, zero, chance.
I agree completely. It's a strong double-digit finish and this ought to give Speaker Gingrich the momentum to continue. We really need a solid Christian Constitutional Conservative to restore America. Newt Gingrich is clearly that man.
I voted for Newt in NY today.
I'll do likewise here in Texas. Go Newt!
In PA, Santorum — who dropped out — is getting 18.4% to Gingrich’s 10.2%. Paul is at 14.3%.

Yeah, Newt laid a big fat turd tonight that’s for sure. Like Rush has lamented many times, Newt is the classic “what could have been”.
Gingrich is just embarrassing himself at this point. He’s had a habit of making an ass of himself at just about every turn since this entire dog show started. The whole process has been painful to watch.
Cain was looking great, and the media(with help from 0bama and the other republicans I’m sure) promptly ‘took him out’. Then Perry looked to be ‘the man’, but turns out that he couldn’t talk in front of a camera. Bachmann looked alright for awhile, but she Kamikaze’d herself over that vaccine nonsense. Gingrich looked ok for a few weeks, until he went off the tracks, attacking others with Liberal democrat talking points. Santorum wouldn’t have won the general anyway. That leaves us with Mittens, the Massachusetts LIBERAL on the threshold of being the nominee. What a sad state of affairs....God help us!!!
Are you talking about Dole and Clinton? Or Romney and Obama? Because I've heard this song before.

GAG!
Blitzer is pushing for Jeb Bush as Romney’s VP rather than the inexperienced Mark Rubio.
NOT ANOTHER BUSH. NOT NOW! NOT EVER!
My my, Romney acts as if he’s just been elected president. All those who have voted for him have just insured that the RINO establishment will continue on schedule and that conservatives and their values will be ignored.
Romney hasn’t won yet! I pray to God he doesn’t. I did not vote for obama, and I will certainly not vote for his liberal twin romney.
As of now, Newt is being defeated in PA by a candidate that has already dropped out (Santorum) and Ron Paul. Seriously. In Rhode Island it appears Gingrich not only got crushed by Romney, he only got 6% of the vote and finished far behind Ron Paul. In Delaware, where Gingrich spent weeks, he lost by 30% to Romney. Newt is doing horribly badly everywhere. And there are still people here who think Gingrich has even the slightest chance of being the nominee or stopping Willard. Are some people really this politically naive, or is the pain of accepting the obvious just too much yet to accept?

It's incredibly sad to watch at this point.
The problem is I know Gingrich is a clever politician and has known he isn't going to win or have any impact at the convention for weeks or even months now. It's like he is enjoying this last moment in the spotlight and just can't let it go. That would be fine, but he is giving a lot of people false hope and essentially taking their money to pay off his campaign debt without being truthful with them.
I think a lot of folks are overestimating Obama's popularity.
The American people are not buying what Obama is selling.
We don't like his policies, we don't like his appointments, we don't respect his management style, and we hate his attitude.
For the next six months we should all simply keep reminding everyone that everything about the guy sucks.
Then he will lose.
Bunch of Romneybots messed everything up for people in places like Texas. I think all primaries should be the same day and Republicans only primaries. I had to gag to vote for McPain, but thanks to Sarah, it was a bit easier.
In Delaware 98% of the vote is in and Willard is beating Newt by 30 points, I'm pretty sure it isn't a little early to call it.
Some egos cant admit defeat.
I am not sure why they are hanging onto him.
His campaign was over after FL. The great debater lost both debates there. His southern strategy failed. He has seldom been out of the mid teens in poll numbers and in actual votes. His campaign is $4 million in debt.
He had to win about 95% of all remaining delegates just to get close to the nomination.
He has become the huckabee2012 hanger on.

And that he is a dog eater ;)
Romney is not technically the nominee yet but he is certainly the only guy left in the race.
Newt knows he is done after tonight and he will make it official within a week.
This thing is over, Rover.

I remember how I used to ridicule folks that wanted Palin to run this year, because I didn’t think she was quite ready for prime time. Damn.... was I ever wrong. I totally wish she would have ran and gotten the nomination. She would have blown away the competition, and wouldn’t have been afraid to rip 0bama to shreds!
Mittens isn’t going to win. I’d rather go down with a real conservative at the helm, than a Massachusetts liberal. I feel like I owe a good many FReepers an apology.....
I’ll most likely end up voting AGAINST 0bama, but it sure as hell isn’t gonna be easy to hit the button for Mittens!

"To come up with a bipartisan plan in this polarized environment is commendable."
George Soros Wants Mitt Romney
Republican only, yes. Same day, no.
Same day would guarantee an unknown, untested, unvetted candidate chosen only by name recognition and bankroll.
Typical northeast result.
Your post saying it was a little early to call it was at 9:20. By that time well over 90% of the vote was in and the state was long since called for Willard. With 98% in, Romney got 57%, Gingrich 27%, Paul 10%, Santorum 6%. It was an easy call for the networks to make since it wasn't even close.
While I agree with your assessment, I never thought Clinton would have won a 2nd term, but he did.
With voter fraud, the MSM turd polishing, etc., I wouldn’t bet the farm on it at this point.
Yes they are...naive that is. When I read that someone thinks that 27% is "quite good" at this point in the game, well...what can you say about that? When you are losing to someone who isn't in the race...and you are losing by 30 points when you spend weeks in a place...
THERE IS NOTHING GOOD ABOUT IT. WISE UP.
Last I heard Santorum won the popular vote and Paul might have ended up with the most delegates. It's irrelevant now anyway, and certainly doesn't have anything to do with Delaware. Delaware is winner take all and the race wasn't even close like it was in Iowa.
But however they manage it, I still will not vote for Romney. There will be a conservative on the ticket.

I voted today. Out of a population of 7,500, my poling place, one of 2, had 46 votes at 5 pm. There was ONE article in the paper yesterday that the primary was today. It was a well hidden event.
46 people. If you're thinking that there is a groundswell for Romney, there isn't.
Romney is a bad candidate but unfortunately Newt is worse. Newt managed to capture 4th place in a state where only 3 candidates are currently running. Nobody’s fault but his....
Romney can barely muster over half of Republicans when the competition is non-existent.
Pathetic.
(sigh)
As I said, the fact that there was a primary today was a little more than a whisper. Tell me why you aren't disgusted. 46 people.
What’s worse is that’s up in Mitt’s back yard where you would expect his support to be the strongest. The only people enthusiastically supporting Mittens is his family, Fox News, probably the people working for him, and 0bama.....
I’ll remain disgusted until that mf’ing Kenyan is thrown out of the White House.
