Rick Perry Endorses Mitt Romney

Texas Gov. Rick Perry originally endorsed Newt Gingrich as the top candidate after dropping out of the Republican presidential race.

But with Gingrich set to quit the campaign trail, Perry on Wednesday evening gave his support to the probable nominee, Mitt Romney.

"Mitt Romney has earned the Republican presidential nomination through hard work, a strong organization, and [a] disciplined message of restoring America after nearly four years of failed job-killing policies from President [Barack] Obama and his administration," Perry said in a statement provided to FOX News Channel.

"So today I join the many conservative Republicans across the nation in endorsing Mitt Romney for president and pledge to him, my constituents and the Republican Party that I will continue to work hard to help defeat President Obama.

All I know about you is that a lot of people think you’re obnoxious.

I don't spend time here for popularity or group think.

Learn the difference between truth and what a "Lot of people think".

Lose the "Homeowners Association" mentality.

Pro-Life - Romney will have no effect one way or the other, just like Reagan, and both Bushes. Like the other three before, he will talk a good game, but no bill on the issue will ever bear his signature.

Hello, McFly? Bush SIGNED a partial birth abortion bill. I suspect Romney's line will be yours, that it's a "settled" issue and he will do nothing to rock the boat on it. Which means the holocaust against the unborn continues.

Gay marriage - we are doomed there. The good news is it will be widespread when most of us are dead. Talk to the under-30 crowd, its popular.

Incredibly defeatist attitude. You do realize that if it's not stopped, the "sexual revolution" doesn't stop there? Just as gay marriage was unthinkable, and is now a movement, and as planned single motherhood was before that, you are seeing the same now for transsexualism and will see it for incest, pedophilia, bestiality, polygamy, etc. Any perversion or indecency you can think of will be the next issue we have to "cave in on" in this march to insanity. These are NOT isolated issues in any way, shape or form. So someone better find a way to win on them.

Not to mention, if everything young people believe now stays as it is as they grow up, the entire country will be utterly and totally destroyed from every brand of left-wing thought you can think of. There is NO room for giving up on these issues. We MUST win or America will become a Hell on earth. One reason we're losing with young people is because America and young people are losing their traditional religion. That's why the country will be lost for good if that trend doesn't turn around.

Nationalized health care- I take him at his word, he will repeal it.

I don't take him at his word on ANYTHING. Not any politician for that matter, although Bush Jr. was one of the most honest we've had. Besides, we've already had advisors of Romney's come out and say they will not repeal "all" of it. They're not coming up with those ideas out of nowhere. Those are definitely leaked ideas from private meetings and discussions they've had that "slipped out."

Totally irrelevant point. I’m not here predicting how the election is going to come out. I’m simply talking about my vote which will be down-the-line conservative, hence it won’t include a vote for Obama or Romney. If everyone voted like me Pelosi wouldn’t take over the House. None of us are in control of how the election actually comes out.

You are right, one bill since 1981. The point is still valid. Nothing will change. So to go to war over this issue, even thou Romney says he is pro-life in 2008 and 2012, and damn the economy and foreign policy for it is stupid in my humble opinion.

Defeatist maybe, realist yes. Sorry this sexual revolution has been going on my whole life time and I'm 50. The Lawrence Welk crowd has moved on to the cemetery and the Jefferson Airplane crowd won. It makes my skin crawl as much as you, but I know what my daughters and their contemporaries think, and it is not what we do. We will lose because we will run out of time, unfortunately our time cannot live forever. The Sexual Revolutionaries won, if you do not believe it, take a look around or you live in a real isolated part of the country.

Health Care - If we have the House and Senate plus Romney, Obamacare is toast. Its too big to just throw to the side. He will repeal it for pure political reasons, but so what. The one thing I know, is that Obama sure as hell will not repeal it.

If that’s all I can get from you, a vote down the ticket, fine. I’m afraid of people from your splinter faction just not showing up. Obama’s cool with you, Barak’s counting on you, but those that stay home will make Reid and Pelosi smile from ear to ear. So you are going one or two for us in Congress, and Obama gets your de facto support for President. I guess we got to take our small victories here and there. As they say, we can’t get everything.

To date, none of the ABO/Romney supporters can answer the simple questions of how voting for a man whose values are liberal is a conservative action...how one does not have to abandon their morality to vote for him...how voting for a man telling you daily that he will give you the polar opposite of what you want... who mirrors Obama in most policy positions; is a good idea. For the country, or anything else

Not one. Gee...why not?

All we get are fear filled excuses about “Obama thanks you” and other illogical crap. You ABO types can spin it till the cows come home, but you are willingly putting aside everything you claim to believe in with your vote for Romney. That’s your choice. Just don’t call yourselves conservatives. I have no idea why you are on a conservative website that does not remotely agree with you.

And as a side note: Anyone willing to explain how any of these former candidates and others, regardless of their name or fame, suddenly going 180 and backing Romney against everything THEY claimed to believe in isn’t an act of pure liberal hypocrisy?

Just politics? Well, it’s just principle and reputation so no biggie I guess...

The founders may not have WANTED a two-party system, but the whole first-past-the-post, winner-takes-all election system we have mathematically GUARANTEES that only a two-party system is viable. You can’t have anything else with first-past-the-post, winner-takes-all voting.

Why are you taking up for Perry now? You and your ping list had nothing good to say about him when he was in the race.

You and yours ran a lot of Texans away from FR...and you wonder where their money went?

I had no such ping list, so you're delusional as well as rude. Governor Perry was my preferred candidate if Newt Gingrich dropped out. BuckeyeTexan can attest to that. I met him in person and have a picture he took of the two of us together and wrote about that. DUH.

BTW, TEXAS always comes in first on every FReepathon! Dang, you're DUMB too!

Who in the heck are you? Calling vox_freedom an insulting name! Post #159
