Courageous Black Secret Service Woman Revealed Scandal

A Black Secret Service agent is being hailed as the heroine in what is reportedly the worst scandal in the agency’s history.

Paula Reid is the 46-year-old special agent responsible for blowing the whistle on the sex scandal that turned the esteemed agency into so much fodder for the 24-hour news cycle and cable talk shows. Reid, the head of the service detail down in Latin America, discovered that at least 11 agents, including two supervisors, had brought prostitutes back to their hotel rooms in Cartanega, Colombia, just days before the president arrived for an international summit. Such action posed a significant security risk for the commander-in-chief. Officials are praising Reid for her swift action.

“She acted decisively, appropriately,” said Maine Sen. Susan Collins, the ranking member of the Homeland Security Committee, and one of Congress’ lead investigators into this incident, on ABC’s “This Week” on April 22.

The other, New York Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney from the House Oversight Committee, added, “I talked to [Secret Service Director Mark] Sullivan last night, and he was commending her leadership, too. She really went in there and cleaned up the mess.”

In the wake of Reid’s probe, six agents have been fired, six others are being investigated and 11 military personnel are also under scrutiny. Officials are also examining whether this incident was part of a pattern.

“I recognize that the vast majority of Secret Service personnel are professional, disciplined, dedicated, courageous. But to me it defies belief that this is just an aberration,” Collins said. “There were too many people involved. If it had been one or two, then I would say it was an aberration. But it included two supervisors. That is particularly shocking and appalling.”

Reid’s leadership in this case is also shining a light on the paucity of women and minorities within the Secret Service.

“I can't help but wonder if there'd been more women as part of that detail if this ever would have happened,” Collins said Sunday on the weekly news talk show.

According to Maloney, the agency comprises only 11 percent women. “I can't help but keep asking this question, where are the women? We probably need to diversify the Secret Service and have more minorities and more women.”

Guys in the military (and most secret service are former military) have been known to bang hookers on occasion while overseas. I know it’s hard to believe, but...
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Think “TAILHOOK”.

At first they tried to make it into a ‘once in a career’ get together and the fact being that while not many may have known what was going on etc, the Tailhook convention had been going on for years and one of the ‘paid entertainment’ ladies had said something to the effect “I’ve been coming here for years and it gets a little worse each year” etc etc.
Duh...if so bad, why keep coming back?

One with a tad of common sense knows that as soon as the ‘officials’ started claiming and expressing shock that, virile young lads, in a foreign country, that were willing to ‘take a bullet’ would even think of relieving tension by carousing about, that the people that can’t find BO’s vital papers, would dig up every lady in the world that had ever received gratuities from US advance details would step forward.

I am by no means condoning anything - especially when it boils down to ‘cast the first stone’ etc but these agents/military are NOT in unfamiliar territory.

The biggest mistake was getting caught, though a few wags have said it is sure good to see someone tied into Washington willing to haggle over the cost of getting screwed.

They could have gotten the same performance by hiring some eunuchs.

Imagine the points if you hire a disabled, LGBT black woman.

And as they say in her race’s predominant popular culture, “snitches get stitches, biatch.”

Her race and sex and what she eats for lunch doesn’t matter, if she blew the whistle on this I commend her for it. The fawning over her *because* she is a black woman is nauseating. She’s a Secret Service agent, and that’s what matters.

what on earth does her race have to do with it? Everyone supposed to think blacks are more moral than the rest now? Think Martin Luther King.........

Race has everything to do with it, hence the story. If it had been a White woman, it would have been a racist act to discredit the Obama Admin.

Yep. It's called "picking your liberty buddies a little more carefully" and exercising some discretion. Nonetheless, it's laughable that so many are expressing shock over the fact that individuals trained to fight and kill aren't exactly choirboys when they let off some steam overseas. Tho pussyfication of American men continues...

Yes, more diversity will greatly enhance Obama’s personal safety. Full speed ahead!

I really haven’t spent much time wondering about the dudes letting off steam.

I’ve been feeling sorry for their wives at home.
Who knows how long they’ve been exposed to diseases by their well respected husbands?

They probably have already received their first batch of tests that they will have to continue for a certain period of time.
Then there is the issue of explaining to the kids why daddy isn’t going into work anymore.

I am always amazed at how much men will risk just to blow off some steam.....but there it is.

Is this really the worst scandal in the agency’s history?
I think the JFK assassination might top this.

What has been quite obvious is that NONE of those accused races has been offered in the scandal. So how many of these secret service folks were Holder’s people? We know damn near everything about them including their shoe sizes (sarc).

Inquiring minds want to know......

true...it’s reasonable to assume they are a mixed bunch.

The article is written by a liberal obviously.

She’s not just a woman in a man’s world...she’s a BLACK woman in a man’s world!

Drool, drool, pant pant.

It would have been nice if a male SS agent had been disgusted enough with this to have stopped it, but as we can see on this thread....men tend to think of it as letting off steam.

Yes, and keep in mind that when you hire black women, your diversity points are doubled.

And when she gets promoted into management, the points become astronomical.

I think it has much more to do with the fact that she is a woman.

JFK got away with every sort of debauchery under the sun back in the day when we had an all-male press corps. Everyone just shoveled and shut-up.

She is on target though, this is a major vulnerability prone to exploit by a foreign intelligence service.
