At first they tried to make it into a ‘once in a career’ get together and the fact being that while not many may have known what was going on etc, the Tailhook convention had been going on for years and one of the ‘paid entertainment’ ladies had said something to the effect “I’ve been coming here for years and it gets a little worse each year” etc etc.
Duh...if so bad, why keep coming back?
One with a tad of common sense knows that as soon as the ‘officials’ started claiming and expressing shock that, virile young lads, in a foreign country, that were willing to ‘take a bullet’ would even think of relieving tension by carousing about, that the people that can’t find BO’s vital papers, would dig up every lady in the world that had ever received gratuities from US advance details would step forward.
I am by no means condoning anything - especially when it boils down to ‘cast the first stone’ etc but these agents/military are NOT in unfamiliar territory.
The biggest mistake was getting caught, though a few wags have said it is sure good to see someone tied into Washington willing to haggle over the cost of getting screwed.
Yep. It's called "picking your liberty buddies a little more carefully" and exercising some discretion. Nonetheless, it's laughable that so many are expressing shock over the fact that individuals trained to fight and kill aren't exactly choirboys when they let off some steam overseas.
