House Votes on Stopping Student Loan Interest Rate Hike

Speaker Boehner proposed paying for the $6 billion a year price tag by taking money from what he called "one of the slush funds" tied to President Obama's health care program. He plans to re-allocate some $11.9 billion targeted for women's health programs, using $5.9 billion to keep the student loan interest rates at 3.4% for one year.

In proposed Senate legislation, the rate increase would be put off for one year and would be paid for by adjusting tax rules that allow some individuals to avoid paying Medicare payroll taxes.

The White House has threatened to veto any bill that would repeal health care programs to pay for the lower student loan interest rates.

Actually it was a great book by Tom Wolf, I believe. Very good; Very Funny. You thought the water bottle scene was funny in the move, read Wolf's description of the event in the book.

the 1st time in my life to see and have cable installed was my new apt in Texas.......Turned on the new tv, sat back in my new laz-boy and THE RIGHT STUFF came on. After three hours of tryin not to step on my jaw in amazement, the show replayed.............I watched it again.....now I’m over 6 straight hours into my new stuff when I remember I was sposta be on a date w/ the prettiest girl I ever saw whom I met on my CB as The Pegleg Pirate....ARG....but that’s anorther story
