SANFORD, Florida (Reuters) - A Florida judge rejected a prosecution request to raise the bond for George Zimmerman on Friday, after it was disclosed that the man charged with murdering unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin had received about $200,000 from anonymous donors to fund his defense.
"I'm not going to make a snap decision," Circuit Court Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. said during a hearing in Sanford, the central Florida town where 17-year-old Martin was shot dead by Zimmerman in February.
He spoke after Prosecutor Bernardo de la Rionda said the disclosure by Zimmerman's lawyer on Thursday that donors had contributed "just over $200,000" to his defense meant that the amount of his bond should be reconsidered.
Lester said he needed more information about Zimmerman's fund-raising before he could agree to any request for reconsideration of the bond.

So, in effect, the prosecution wants to prevent Zimmerman from having the money to mount an effective defense.
When Crump and the Crump-ettes heard that Zimm had raised $200,000 by nickel and dime donations through paypal....
They stained their shorts and went running back to court to get the bail raised. If not revoked complerely.
What’s with the prosecution’s rabid obsession with getting Zimmerman? What information do they have and if so, why was the Affidavit so incredibly baseless? Paging Alan Dershowitz!
Trying to limit his defense finances was my take as well. They know that any decent lawyer will crush them.

Martin attorney: Zimmerman misled court about money http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2877062/posts
Bail is not supposed to be punitive; it’s only to insure appearance in court.
Even a rich person shouldn’t be made to pay high bail just because he can afford it; that’s not the function of bail.
The prosecution continues in their depraved ways.
What the prosecution has in this case is NOISE, and plenty of it.
Yep - what does the money have to do with it other than more class warfare in the mind of the Martin clan lawyer. Any bets on whether he tries to depict George as a wealthy individual with a siver spoon in his mouth and a penchant for exercising the power of his wealth to kill darling young Black boys. Can I say "boys" or is that racist too?
...the man charged with murdering unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin....

Is the charge actually murder? Or are they playing up that one, too?
The only issue that could be raised by the prosecution regarding this money would be, did the defendant mislead the court about his financial status? And as has already been pointed out, Zimmerman had been in jail, and likely had no idea at the time of his bond hearing how much money had accumulated.
Reminder to self: Donate as much as possible to George Zimmerman’s defense. Since I don’t donate to charities anymore (obammy is taking care of all the poor now) I might can direct a few of those dollars towards righting a real wrong; the prosecution of George Zimmerman.
This man has already been sentenced.
He will NEVER be able to live a normal life again. There is at least 10 million black men out there who would be willing to give their own life to get revenge for Treyvon. They would then be considered a cult hero for doing so.
How can he live any kind of life without always looking over his shoulder? When the next black guy who crosses his path could be the one who ends it for him
I didn’t know that bail was set based on income. I thought it was based on risk to the community.
Murder in the Second Degree...
“There is at least 10 million black men out there who would be willing to give their own life to get revenge...”

I wouldn’t call vigilante violence, reflexively triggered by abjectly ignorant racist hate, the act of a “man”.
Besides any savages acting in vengeance on behalf of the thug Martin, are almost certainly going to operate in a rabid pack. 12 MIGHT be enough to get the job done.....
