Anti-Bullying Speaker Curses Christian Teens
Fox News ^ | April 27, 2012 | Todd Starnes

As many as 100 high school students walked out of a national journalism conference after an anti-bullying speaker began cursing, attacked the Bible and reportedly called those who refused to listen to his rant “pansy asses.”

The speaker was Dan Savage, founder of the “It Gets Better” project, an anti-bullying campaign that has reached more than 40 million viewers with contributors ranging from President Obama to Hollywood stars. Savage also writes a sex advice column called “Savage Love.”

Savage, and his husband, were also guests at the White House for President Obama’s 2011 LGBT Pride Month reception. He was also invited to a White House anti-bullying conference.

Savage was supposed to be delivering a speech about anti-bullying at the National High School Journalism Conference sponsored by the Journalism Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association. But it turned into an episode of Christian-bashing.

This Savage guy is a real piece of work. It is almost incomprehensible that he would be invited to speak to these kids at this conference. A simple Google search would have told the conference organizers all about this guy.

The organizers not only knew what Savage is about: they SUPPORT what he’s about. That’s why they sent out a non-apology to the attendees to shove it in their faces that “we were very pleased with all of the educational opportunities at the Seattle convention and we hope our attendees feel the same.” That’s where “journalism” is today, boys and girls.

As many as 100 high school students walked out of a national journalism conference. Smart kids.

Uh...the “conference organizers” love the “norming” influence, as it attracts more potential victims.

very revealing as to who the real “haters” and “intolerants” are....
I’m getting really tired of being labeled... intolerant .... while being forced
to put up with this, hmmm, stuff.

The article says that thousands were in attendance, so evidently only a relative handful walked out—and Savage hurled insults at them as they departed.

“As many as 100 high school students walked out of a national journalism conference”.

To me, it doesn’t get any “better” than that! I think a lot of high schoolers are pushing back on the whole “bullying” association with homosexuality. This year at my son’s high school, they had the usual “silence” day (support of homosexuals). The Seniors planned that day as their “skip” day. MANY of the other students suddenly had “doctor appointments, dentist appointments, sore throats, coughs... whatever and stayed home. The population of the school was dramatically decreased (and the parents cheerfully wrote absence notes).

Dan Savage anti-bullying? You have to be shitting me. He's a real piece of work, and a piece of trash. Anyone that knows his writings has known that for years.

I know a few kids, because of my grandson, that are becoming disillusioned with life because of what's going on. We have to be careful around him at times because he gets depressed. He sees no future under this administration. I'm sure many many kids his age (19) are going to turn on the crudRATS.

We talked about bullying some time back right here on FreeRepublic... a few months later the left - always looking for a pity party -decided THEY were being bullied. That's about as likely as 90 year old grandmothers "bullying: Union Dock Workers...

Conservative children are bullied in schools - by their teachers and teacher's pets... No liberals are being bullied anywhere. If it happens it'll be on the front page of every newspaper. This story? It won't be covered.

I happened to read Savage’s column once. This guy is a pervert of the highest magnitude. He must be institutionalized and treated.

This story lost me at “...and his husband.” Say no more, as those three words say it all. Lost AND angry, which is normal when one chooses a life apart from Christ.

KMA Danny boy.

Watch out! He might do it. It's his fantasy.

To you it's a figure of speech. To him, he'll take as an invite.

Yes, it certainly calls for a ‘double take’.
I had to reread to make sure my ‘lyin eyes’ didn’t really see a male name attached to the first freak.

the louder they flog their cause, the more skeletons in their closet. it’s absolutely true regardless of race, creed, color, sexual preference, hair color, shoe size, whatever.
