Cantor-allied Young Guns Network urges non-Republicans to vote in Lugar race
http://www.politico.com ^ | 4/27/12 | By MAGGIE HABERMAN

I reported the other day that the Young Guns Network, a group led by two former top aides to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, is spending $100,000 in the primary between Sen. Richard Lugar and state treasurer Richard Mourdock in a bid to protect the Indiana incumbent - and here's what some of that mail looks like.

A lit piece that the YG Network dropped focuses, as they'd said it would, on energy policy - but it is targeted to non-Republicans, as it reminds voters that Indiana's GOP primary is an open one in which Democrats and independents can vote.

"Indiana does not have party registration," the mail piece says over a picture of a smiling child giving a thumbs-up sign. "You simply need to show up at your polling location on May 8, 2012 to vote for Senator Dick Lugar in the Republican Primary."

In case anyone didn't get the point, the piece adds, "You can vote in the May 8th Republican Primary election! The May 8th Election is open to all voters."

At other points ,the piece says Lugar, who is seen as facing an uphill battle against the conservative-backed insurgent, "has always represented mainstream Indiana values."

Republicans urging Democrats and independents to vote in open primaries was a major point of contention in the Mitt Romney-Rick Santorum fights in the Midwest in recent months. But in this case it's a group with ties to House GOP leadership urging non-Republicans to vote in the primary, and against the conservative favorite.

As Alex reported a little while ago, the establishment backing of Lugar is already showing cracks, with the American Action Network canceling its air support of the incumbent. So having a different group allied with the House leadership encouraging non-Republiacns to vote against the conservative-backed choice is almost certainly not going to play well with the base, or some of the Republican caucus.

There are also still ruffled feathers over the $25,000 donation Cantor made (he blamed a staff error) to a super PAC geared toward knocking out several House GOPers facing primaries.

Barney Keller, a spokesman for the Club for Growth, which has been laying down heavy cash on Mourdock's behalf, said of the mailer, “Regrettably, Eric Cantor’s actions confirm the worst of what grassroots conservatives dislike about a Washington Republican leadership that is more interested in protecting its own than in promoting conservative principles and candidates.”

I've emailed a spokesman for the group and will update if I hear back.

As Mittbots and their cronies worm their way into more and more of the regular Republican party structure you will see more and more corruption ~ some of it of mind bending proportions.

What these people did in Virginia is instructive. They do not play by the rules.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/04/thanking-rivals-by-name-mitt-romney-embraces-gop-nomination-at-gop-gathering/ ~ get Michelle to REPUDIATE Romney and we’ll think about a reconsideration, but I’m sticking with what I said.

I really don’t care what you clowns think. You’ve acted like a bunch of middle school girls through the whole election and I have even less respect for you than I do the democrats.

Excellent! Its not that Lugar is a ‘bad’ guy its that his time has passed.

He's a gun grabber. Good riddance to him.

Sorry, the man and his rabble of followers came in here and took away the primary race.

He cannot be forgiven.

What good would running the mouth do with some BS 'repudiation'? It would do nothing constructive. Bachmann didn't even endorse Romney. That says more right there. If Romney wants it, he'll have to work for it. It's a bargaining chip.

Cantor is a disgrace, and must be removed from any leadership position. My problems with him started years ago when I saw his “liberal” wife with him on CSPAN and my wife told me “never trust him!” Sh has been proven right ever since.

Well, yes, but didn’t Reagan and the two Presidents Bush have liberal wives too? Nancy spoke out against Oliver North in VA in 1994.

Bachmann didn't even endorse Romney.

I think its funny that the ones the idiots accused most of working for Romney are the ones who haven't endorsed him.

However, there is a small handful of posters who happily went down the line to destroy every candidate with the same rhetoric. Bachmann made them especially rabid and they embraced their inner Bill Maher.

Bachmann was a threat to the cult of Palin. That is to be distinguished from Palin or even many Palin supporters. The Cult wanted the field cleared for when she ran for president, despite no indications that she would so. Therefore, the Cult had to destroy all in the way.

And they gave us Romney. However I do think we had some party operatives who were here at FR helping to stoke the fire. I did some deep digging into the posting history of a few and found that they have 4 year gaps in their posting histories but become quite prolific when it comes to the primaries. They've fallen silent again.

As you know that's not true about me ~ nor about you ~ but you're right, there are party operatives on these threads. Currently we are a bit short of Obots ~ which is startling. Four years ago the Truth Squad was already operating full time.

Is Obama being forced to husband his resources? THIS COULD BE HUGH AND SERIES!

Stay tuned for later events.

And this, friends, is a statement showing the mentality level of what is considered a serious voter I think you should wipe the Newt Juice off your chin you pathetic democrat undergarment stain. It was child's play for Mitt's strategist's to create a successful web of deceit to dupe them to take over - not much going on upstairs and when it's done they will be none the wiser.

I am living in Indiana. I will not support Dick Lugar because I have watched him in action. When I do write a letter to him, I get rude responses for not supporting UN causes.

That said any piece of nasty foulness like PNSN, should keep their foul pie hole shut lest they get Lugar re-elected.

PNSN is no “REAL” conservative. Just a hateful piece of garbage sent to us to ruin “real” conservatives.

A place in Hell is waiting for that person with their name burnt into it and yes PNSN, I am going to flash my “dirty pillows” right at ya once again. They are old a saggy too, you perv.

PNSN hates everyone, including his/herself. The feeling is entirely mutual.

Here's what I think, that you are incapable of, as you did it yourself.

Mitt spends millions on attacking - Patriot ‘We The People’, Pro Constitution candidates - should be a clue he disagrees with what they stand for.

Pity Americans who rejoiced and took part in that action - they are left with a hater of all that is good.
