Newt Gingrich says he's dropping out 'about' May 2 and endorsing Romney [VIDEO]
Daily Caller ^ | 4/29/2012 | Nicholas Ballasy

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich told The Daily Caller in a video interview that he is dropping out of the Republican presidential race 'probably about Wednesday' May 2 and endorsing former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

Gingrich, alongside his wife Callista, said the GOP's message in the general election should be, "Can you afford four more years like this? Not complicated. Do you want this much unemployment, this high a gasoline price, this much deficit spending? You have a great president but if you don't want this, you better vote for somebody new."

Then the Republican party will continue to lose.

YOU said:

Especially, Sarah. She urged people to vote for Newt, even voted for him in Alaska, but never did anything substantive to help him... What a major disappointment. She is just as coy and diva as all the others... Now, she has plans on showing up at the convention. She did not undergo the rigors of the debates, or finance her own campaign, or had her measure again taken, but she will be there to try and prosper off the ashes of the conservatives...

BUT:

DID SARAH REALLY ENDORSE NEWT, AS IN ENDORSE? Naahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Such attitude against Palin WAS the reason why Palin didn’t run in the first place. Conservatives are harsh against their fellow “true” conservatives, but mild and forgiving to “fake” conservatives.

WE LIKE GOSSIPS AND OPINIONS AGAINST ... FACT.

NO REBELLION IN ANY OF THEM. Did someone threaten their life or something.

* * *

EXACTLY!!! What is it with these people?! ALL of them? I thought Newt really would stay the course. Hah.

I’m so sick of my vote (in California) also not counting for anything at all. Why the hell do I even HAVE a vote?

This presidential race has turned out to be a huge disappointment. Let’s make sure we at least get pro-life, conservatives in the Congress.

This looks like a long goodbye. If you’re going to drop out, why not do it now? What’s the significance of May 2 anyway?

He had some meetings in NC. Since they were set up, he felt obliged to see them through. Least that is what I heard.

Newt's not "giving in;" it's over. Santorum sealed that deal for Romney just as he was tasked to do.

There's no money to continue. There's no support.

There wasn't financial mismanagement. Due to the fickle nature of the not-Romney block of voters, Newt surged too late. He had to rush to build an infrastructure and was faced with a candidate who had years to build his ground game and his fundraising.

She wouldn’t have a prayer in 2016 or 2020 if she didn’t. Unless she plans to run a Tea Party or other type of ticket.

Look for today’s OWS May Day protests to simply hand over the election to Romney, simply because “real” working people will not have patience for such protests.

I am very concerned that if Obama is re-elected and I have predicted this from time to time, there will be a second American revolution down the road, mark my words.

Today’s OWS protests may very well hand Romney the election, simply because people now will not have the patience for such protests and protesters, in other words, by default.

Get over yourself. If you read my post with some comprehension, I did NOT say Sarah endorsed Newt. She urged others to vote for him, voted for him herself. I didn’t say she endorsed him.

My “attitude”, as you call it, is simply pointing out that Sarah basically sat this one out, keeping her hands clean, weakly cheerleading from the sidelines for this one and then that... She never put herself on the line. Not even you can deny that.

And if it is true, as you say, that my attitude, which consists of looking at her actions and inaction in their overall context of this primary season, and their consequences, is the reason she stayed out of the race, then she really is far more of a diva than I stated in my post.

You seem to have a little diva-ness in you. You can’t have it both ways, it’s America we’re battling to save, not any one politician’s career or viability, not even Sarah’s.

From a continuing, though disappointed Sarah fan and supporter...

I guess I’m too dumb to understand how someone can call Lenin II a “great president.”

Well, all of us bitter clingers are just too dumb to understand the greatness of Obamao. Lenin II? Perhaps. I fear it may become more like Stalin II....
