It was on 460. I was there this weekend for a track meet at Lynchburg College and remember passing a 100% gas station. There is also a Big Apple store on 460.

says utilizing domestic energy sources, and sources from friendly neighbors — rather than unstable countries in the Middle East — offers greater price stability and less volatile supply for their customers.

....It's also $15 bbl cheaper than from the middle east.

They may be very fortunate with the location of their refinery, not many non integrated refiners make much money at all.

“United Refining needs to add a “no ethanol” grade. I pay extra for no-ethanol gas whenever I can find it, because my gas mileage improves by about 4MPG.”

I agree. I recently went on a long road trip in my 2000 Buick Century, which is rated for 30mpg on the highway. I was only able to find and fill my tank once with non-ethanol gas, and on that tank I got 32mpg, at over 70 mph! When I used the gas with ethanol, I got 27 to 29 mpg.

It’s really hard to find pure gasoline in my state of Texas because of government regulations. In the whole state of TX, which is huge, there are only 94 pure gas stations. Compare that to Louisiana with 263, Mississippi with 249, Alabama with 292, or Oklahoma with 399.

Made in USA! ( from oil out of a Canadian pipeline)

OOOOOOkay

Well its refined in the USA so I would classify that as American made.

The fact that the crude oil isn't from the Middle East is sauce for the goose!

It's right in the article headline.

They are claiming to sell 100% American gas.

If it is made from Canadian oil, every other oil refinery in America could claim the same thing, even with imported oil from anywhere.

“Well its refined in the USA so I would classify that as American made.”

Isn’t 99% of all our gas refined here?

Mr. Catsimatidis says utilizing domestic energy sources, and sources from friendly neighbors — rather than unstable countries in the Middle East — offers greater price stability and less volatile supply for their customers. "What happens if Iraq gets bombed, or Saudi Arabia gets bombed, or Iran stops shipping?" he asks

Answer: The price of domestic oil and gasoline will rise right along with the rest of the world's supply. It's a COMMODITY. That's how it works.

So, while there are good reasons to use domestic products, he's dead wrong about "greater price stability."

every other oil refinery in America could claim the same thing,

Those east coast refineries get their oil from Africa and the middle east. There are no pipelines running from Canada to the east coast. They could be getting cheaper GOM oil but there are US laws stopping them.

The gas, GAS, would still be as ‘100% American’ as the stations in the article are selling.

Have one in the nearest town. Stopped last night. Now if we could decouple the price of US gas from OPEC.

“Now if we could decouple the price of US gas from OPEC.”

Newt had a pretty comprehensive plan to do just that, but not enough people bought in.
