Powerline Blog ^ | April 30, 2012 | Paul Mirengoff

Last week, we noted that a poll conducted for the campaign of Richard Mourdock showed him leading Sen. Richard Lugar by five points in the race for the Republican nomination for the Indiana Senate seat Lugar has held since 1977. Lugar’s polling may well confirm that he is in trouble. Recently, his campaign has been flailing at Mourdock with an air of desperation.

Things are not looking good for the RINO Lugar. His best news recently is that Juan McLame endorsed him ;-). But Mourdock cannot let up now, so if you can send him some $$

Mitch Daniels filmed a campaign commercial supporting Lugar and it’s been playing nonstop. It doesn’t seem to be helping though.

Munchkin Mitch getting back in touch with that RINO side again...

Lugar just turned 80 earlier this month. If Indiana voters oust him a week from today, then our own Arlen Specter will have to write another chapter in his best seller about how right wing extremists are taking over the GOP, LOL!

Six terms in the Senate is enough for jug-eared Dick. He hasn’t even bothered to maintain a residence much less live in Indiana in twenty years.

And as Michelle Malkin points out in her blog today, the Young Guns Network - a PAC started by two from assistants to RINO extra-ordinaire Eric Cantor - are vigorously out recruiting DEMOCRATS in Indiana to vote for Lugar in the Republican Primary. So not only is a flailing decline of Lugar, but we have that RINO serpent Cantor recruiting the very party he’s supposed to be fighting against mobilized en masse to elect nothing but another Progressivist Big Government-loving Republicans to office. It’s sickening.

Lugar stopped representing the people of Indiana back in the early 80’s.

I don’t put Lugar in the same camp with Specter, Weicker, Snowe, Collins and Warner.

BUT, in an election when you are accused of being out of touch and too attached to the office, it is a BAD IDEA to respond to a question about supporting Mourdock after the primary he should win with the snotty. “We are going to win and we will welcome Mourdock’s support.” How very unsporting and childish.

If these guys were NFL football teams, that quotation would go on the wall of the opponent’s locker room to energize them.

You've got to be kidding! Cantor's boys are actually recruiting Rats to vote for Lugar?????

If Lugar should pull this out, then an investigation needs to be done of Cantor. I knew he couldn't be trusted, and now we have a reason why.

This is why term limits are needed and every single politician in Washington DC needs to be retired, right now!

Wobbly, tottering (RINO) Lugar turned EIGHTY YEARS OLD (80!!) the 4th. of April. He’s so two-faced (most RINO’s are)that he makes me sick to even see him.....same reaction I have every time I see BHO.

RINO Lugar IS PRO-Illegals; PRO-United Nations, and PRO-Law of the Sea Treaty (if you don’t know what this does to our sovereignty, please look it up).

RINO Lugar has become Indiana’s Robert Byrd (D-WVA) and this Indiana voter strongly believes he NO LONGER represents the traditional, common sense values and mindset of a majority of Republicans in this state. He MUST BE replaced! Richard Mourdock is our candidate!

Mitch Daniels has NOT helped himself by showing up in RINO Lugar ads and I’ve lost respect for him.

Also, how many of you are aware that some employees working for the House of Representatives group known as “the young guns” (Paul Ryan (R-WI), Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and its’ chairman, Pete Sessions (R-TX), have been running PRO (RINO) Lugar ads in this State? What does this tell us about this particular group of ‘republicans’ who are in leadership rolls in the House?? The honest, true conservative members of the House of Representatives are up against sickening RINO House leadership. This has to be changed!

Maybe Larry Flyntt will come out and endorse Lugar like he did Obama.

Well, isn’t that special? How about we give Eric Cantor a little phone call.
Eric’s DC Phone #(202) 225-2815
Eric’s VA Phone #(540) 825-8960

Melt the phone lines, folks. Just a suggestion. What do you say?

“Six terms in the Senate is enough for jug-eared Dick. He hasn’t even bothered to maintain a residence much less live in Indiana in twenty years.”

And his “buddy” Orrin Hatch is getting a primary. Of the two, Hatch is the more benign, but they both need to be gone. 36 years is way too many to “serve.”

Investigate and drive from public life in well-deserved disgrace: Boehner, Cantor, McCarthy as well as Lugar regardless of whether Lugar wins the primary or not.

Dick Lugar is a nice guy. I voted for him when I lived in Indiana. But that's his problem, he's too NICE.

At a time when we need rottweilers, Lugar is a Maltese with a pink bow in his hair.

The Nixon-Ford-Dole era is ending, but the Boehner-McConnell-Romney era continues.

It’s not just that he’s nice. Jim DeMint is nice. But Lugar is a progressive, on the same side and following the same policies as the Democrats, just pushing a little slower.

I'd like to get some off-mike comments recorded from these guys. They could be very revealing. Of course none of them appear to be quite as stupid as Obama and seem to understand mostly how microphones work.
