On Dec. 17, 2011, Kim Jong Il, North Korea’s “Dear Leader” and son of self-proclaimed god Kim Il Sung, passed on to eternity.

That same day, a handful of North Korean defectors graduated from Underground University, a VOMsponsored school where North Korean Christians learn how to reach their countrymen with the gospel of Jesus Christ...

Kim Il Sung established a new guiding philosophy called “juche,” meaning “self-reliance,” that reflected a warped imitation of Christianity. As the son of Christian parents and the grandson of a Christian pastor, he appointed himself Supreme Leader and godhead, with his son, Kim Jong Il, as the son of god. He set himself up as god and put his son in the place of Jesus.

I did not know Kim Il Sung was the son of Christ followers.

Yes! Right now Voice of the Martyrs is raising funds to purchase bright orange helium baloons, printed with the 6-8 chapters of Romans in Korean on one side, and illustrations that share the Good News on the other. These balloons will be released from the DMZ when the winds are favorable and will find their way into N. Korea. Believers there will retrieve the balloons when they get caught in trees..., deflate them, and keep them in lieu of the Bibles they are not allowed to have. A few yesrs ago, VOM was sending the whole gospel of Mark on the balloons.

As unbelievable as it must seem today, there was a time when Pyongyang was known as the ‘Jerusalem of the Far East’.

That was before Satan’s twin Kims (Kim il Sung and Kim Jong Il) took over.

We can be sure they are both now receiving justice.

Let’s pray for the son, for his salvation. What kind of reputation does the son have? I hope he is bright enough to realize that his father wasn’t God. If he is wise he can become his own man not that his domineering father died. He can try to find truth and do what is right. The problem is that being worshiped and having great wealth can be very deceiving. Maybe he will find one of the balloons and convert. That would be wonderful.
