Five "self-proclaimed anarchists" have been arrested after a months-long sting operation, charged with plotting to blow up a bridge in the Cleveland area, the FBI announced today.

CBS News senior correspondent John Miller reports the group had been involved in a series of escalating plots that ended with their arrest last night by FBI agents.

The sting operation supplied the anarchists with what they thought were "explosives" and bomb-making materials.

At no time during the case was the public in danger, the FBI said.

You’re probably perfectly safe as long as the FBI, TSA, and Secret Service stay out of it.

If we had a real threat from terror bombs, we’d see some go off now and then, we’d come across bomb factories, we’d see trafficking in precursor materials and electronics and detonators. We’d find caches of fertilizer and drums of nitric acid. We’d see failed attempts, in which the device did not go off, we’d discover planted devices and attempt to defuse them. That was the case in Northern Ireland, Iraq, Afghanistan, and other places where terrorist bombs are an issue.

Instead, we ONLY see cases where the FBI has provided everything except the bang.

There are a very few real cases, the Christmas bomber, and numerous “revenge” type pipe bombs, and stupid kids 9and some crazy adults) who make pipe bombs in their bedrooms (do a news search on “pipe bomb. These are not truly terror bomb cases.

Now that ATF has declared flash powder to be a “high explosive” anyone caught with an M80 or quarter stick is guilty of possessing a “bomb” with HE, and it gets reported as such- I’m not counting those cases.

Only one of them was 35.
So who was leading? Perhaps the 35 year old?
I just can't envision him following a bunch of "20 somethings" around.

These scumbags are no different than the Nazi saboteurs of WWII who brought the violence of war to the USA in order to stop/slow war production.
These five anti-capitalist anarchists, like the saboteurs, should be tried, convicted and executed.
Being hung by the neck until dead - in public - would be just fine.

Among the arrested were: Douglas l. Wright, 26, Brandon L. Baxter, 20, and Anthony Wayne, 35,

They named a recreation area on the Palisades Interstate Parkway after that last guy.

Were these men planning to blow up the bridge before the FBI agent got involved? Or did the FBI approached the men with the idea and the explosives-offer before they thought about it?

I just noted a big recreation area in Harriman NY with the same name. I looked it up, Anthony Wayne was a big revolutionary war general, on a par with George Washington. Lots of stuff in Ohio and New York named after him. Probably not this jackass though.

History - Anthony Wayne
Anthony Wayne was an important American military leader during and after the American Revolution.
Snip...He earned the nickname "Mad" Anthony Wayne because of his impulsive actions on the battlefield.
Snip...To ease their fears, the natives' British allies constructed Fort Miamis on the Maumee River. (bridge named after him...see above) During 1794, Wayne moved against the Indians, who were commanded by Blue Jacket. On August 20, 1794, the two forces met at the Battle of Fallen Timbers, so named because the Indians used trees knocked down by a tornado for cover.

They don’t say who was the leader. Here is the best source of info that I have found so far.

What does your common sense say? Or do you need a news report to give your common sense a clue?
