Atlanta Bans Mexican ID Card After Anti-Illegal Immigration Activist Complaint

Stand With Arizona

A stalwart foe of illegal immigration has won a victory over sanctuary city policies in a major U.S. city.

Atlanta has repealed an ordinance that recognized a particular Mexican ID - the infamous "Matricula Consular" card - for city government transactions.

The city council voted to repeal the ordinance - which was adopted in 2004 - after a complaint was filed with the newly created state Immigration Enforcement and Review Board - which was created after passage of Georgia's Arizona-style immigration law H.B. 87 in July 2010.

The complaint, filed in February by longtime anti-illegal alien activist D.A. King, said the ordinance violated H.B. 87 by recognizing the Mexican ID card for city government transactions. It was the first complaint received by the board.

The "Matricula" has a long and disturbing history in America. Purposely created by the Mexican government and distributed in its dozens of U.S. consulates to facilitate illegal aliens' exploitation of U.S. social service benefits, it has been used for years by illegals to steal services in sanctuary cities across the nation. It is routinely used to mask identity thieves by creating new false names as needed to escape past wrongdoing. It was even accepted by unscrupulous entities like Bank of America to issue massive subprime loans to illegal aliens, which helped precipitate the start of the housing collapse in 2007-8.

The Consular card is still accepted in dozens of sanctuary cities across America, for boarding on airlines, and for opening bank accounts, despite being declared insecure and dangerous by the FBI, as one official testified before Congress back in 2003:

Sure. We don’t want to ensure only citizens are voting.

I wonder how illegals can get to drive cars without licenses. They are always being stopped for driving without licenses or insurance and yet they are always let go.

Regarding a post on fr, I got this response from a friend in Dallas. Subject: Dallas uninsured cars Uninsured Cars Off The Road

Recently, the City of Dallas , Texas , passed an ordinance stating that if a driver is pulled over by law enforcement and is not able to provide proof of insurance, the car is towed.

To retrieve the car after being impounded, they must show proof of insurance to have the car released. This has made it easy for the City of Dallas to remove uninsured cars.

Shortly after the “No Insurance” ordinance was passed, the Dallas impound lots began to fill up and were full after only nine days. 80 + % of the impounded cars were driven by illegals.

Not only must they provide proof of insurance to have their car released, they have to pay for the cost of the tow, a $350 fine, and $20 for every day their car is kept in the lot.

Accident rates have gone down 47% and... Dallas ‘ solution gets uninsured drivers off the road WITHOUT making them show proof of nationality.
----•----•----•----•----•----
----•----•----•----•----•----

If only that were true....The facts are that a majority on the city council decided that it was unfair to "minorities" to tow their cars so the rules were modified. The cops can't tow anyone late at night. They can't tow a car that has kids in it or a woman alone after dark. They also are not allowed to tow a car and leave the uninsured driver in a "remote" location. It seems that the minorities can't be expected to have insurance like white folks because they have been the subjects of discrimination over the years.

These policies have discouraged the cops from doing their jobs to the point that a lot of them don't even try any more. And now we have a black Chief of Police who agrees.

In the last 20 years my wife and I have been involved in four accidents in Dallas involving Blacks and Mexicans who had no insurance whatsoever. A year or so ago my wife was hit from behind at a red light by a black guy who gave a fake drivers license, name and address to the cops in addition to having an insurance card from a company who never heard of him. Later she was hit by a Black female with no drivers license, no license plates, no safety inspection and no insurance. I was hit from the side by a Mexican driving a car with stolen license plates, no insurance or driver's license and he was "re-incarcerated" before I could file a claim. Never...Never was any one of these drivers arrested or towed.

Only white people here have insurance. In Texas you can buy thirty days liability insurance and use that to get a license and register your car, after that you don't have to pay again and of course, the insurance policy is cancelled.

If it were not for "uninsured motorist" insurance (which means you pay a deductible) no white driver in Dallas would be able to repair their cars after the ******* and ******** crash into them... (Is that racist...?)

About two years ago I got rear-ended sitting at a traffic light. You guessed it, no ID, no DL, no insurance, and no habla ingles.

The guy spent exactly two hours in the town jail. They didn't even bother to transport him to County. When I asked why not I was told. "ICE won't come for him unless he's wanted for murder and it's not worth the price of the gas to haul him to County so he can get bailed out in an hour. I gave him a summons."

Did he show up for his court date? Pppphhhhht. Who's insurance got stuck with the bill? Mine.

I was just looking up sanctuary cities, you might be interested in this list of sanctuary cities. Ask your city hall if they have a sanctuary city policy.

Some California cities used to impound cars but then it was considered that it was “discriminatory”.
